Dear 6B Families,

I hope that you had a lovely holiday whether you traveled or stayed here. I want to thank all of you for the very generous holiday gift. It was much appreciated!

We hit the new year running with Young Americans this week! I am pasting in the email that was sent home before the break that has all of the information that you need. An important detail to remember is that Grade 6 students are meant to be here this Saturday for the daytime rehearsal and evening performance.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Letter from Mr. MacPherson:

December 13, 2019

Dear Grades 5 & 6 Parents,

We are very excited to welcome the Young Americans back to CDNIS. This is truly a special event that shapes your child’s school experience and contributes to our vision of cultivating character.

Below you will find some essential information related to the week after the Winter Holiday. My advice is for you to save this email as a reference. Please read carefully and do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

What is the schedule for January 8-12?

You can find the itinerary here.

Respectfully, we request that parents do not attend the workshops during the day. There will be evening performances for Grade 5 (January 9) and Grade 6 (January 11 – please note this is a Saturday) in which your children will proudly showcase their learning.

Clothing

Students are asked to wear sports clothing/active wear on all workshop days. A t-shirt will be provided for the performance.

Grade 5 Performance

Students will stay at school for dress rehearsal until 4:45pm. They will be provided with a light pizza dinner and have some free time. Call time is 5:30pm, when the students will go to their homerooms.

The show begins in the LLAC Auditorium at 6pm and will conclude at 8pm. The house will open for parents at 5:45pm. The balcony is reserved for the Grade 5 students.

There will be buses at the following times and locations:

  • 4:45pm: Pick up at Central Pier #4 → 4:47pm Central GPO → 4:55pm Admiralty MTR → 5:15pm Wong Chuk Hang MTR → CDNIS LLAC
  • 8:15pm: Drop off to Wong Chuk Hang MTR → CWB (Golden Dragon) → Admiralty MTR → Central Pier → Central GPO

Grade 6 Performance (Please note this is a Saturday)

While we recognise this is a Saturday, it is expected that students participate in the workshop. Parents/Guardians will drop students off at school between 7am and 7:30am for day 2 of the two-day workshop. Please send your child to school with their own packed lunch as there will be no cafeteria service available. Students will be provided with a light pizza dinner and have some free time in the late afternoon, prior to the performance. Call time is 5:30pm, when the students will go to their homerooms.
