Young Americans Update
Dear Grades 5 & 6 Families,
We are so pleased to announce that the Young Americans are returning to CDNIS! As part of the Grades 5 & 6 Performing Arts programme, your child will participate in a workshop facilitated by the Young Americans. The Grade 6s will engage in a 2-day workshop on January 10-11 (please note this is a Friday and Saturday) and the Grade 5s will engage in a 2-day workshop on January 8-9. The workshops will consist of songs, dancing and a full theatrical experience performed by students themselves.
To minimize cost, we seek support from CDNIS families to provide homestay arrangements for the Young Americans cast, who are typically university-aged students of the Performing Arts.
Feedback from CDNIS hosts in the past has been overwhelmingly positive!
We will split the Young Americans’ time between Grades 5 and 6. We ask that you consider opening your home for the following dates:
Tuesday 7 January to Thursday 9 January
Friday 10 January to Sunday 12 January (The Young Americans will shift to families of Hong Kong International School on Sunday afternoon)
This is not a requirement but your help would be greatly appreciated. Staying in the homes of CDNIS families is really one of the most rewarding aspects for students, their parents and the Young Americans themselves.
The expectations are quite simple:
- Sleeping accommodations for the allotted nights (air mattresses on the floor are suitable)
- Meals: breakfast and dinner
- As per Young Americans’ policy, you must take a minimum of two
Specific information about arrival and departure will be shared at a later date.
If you are interested in being a homestay family, please complete this form.
If we are oversubscribed, we will select families on a first-come, first-served basis.
