At CDNIS, we use G Suite for Education as a learning environment to support student development in academic skills, digital literacy and digital citizenship.

We believe it’s important for parents to understand when and how their children use G Suite for Education in the classroom.

G Suite for Education is a set of education productivity tools from Google including tools for collaboration (Google Apps) and online file storage (Google Drive) and used by tens of millions of students and teachers around the world.

In Gr.4-12, students use their G Suite accounts to complete assignments, communicate with their teachers, and learn 21st century digital citizenship skills.

In January 2019, we will start introducing G Suite accounts to all the Gr.3 students.  This account will give students access to use the following services:

  • Docs
  • Sheets
  • Slides
  • Forms
  • Drive

Please note that Gmail and other services will NOT be open for Gr.3 students at this point based on their curriculum need.  However, students can use the Google accounts to create documents, slideshows, forms and develop collaboration and communication skills with their teachers and peers.

Parents can stay tuned for more information from your child’s Seesaw journal about their Google experiences.  Students will send home their Google account details for their parents.  But Seesaw will remain the primary communication tool between home and school because of its privacy and personal security features.

Please contact your homeroom teacher or Mrs. Makky Fung ( if you have any further questions about this.
