Music summative

Explain the step by step process of this assignment… *
Firstly, I did the proposal, secondly, I answered the questions on the research, thirdly I chose what I was going to do which took some time as it was hard to decide, fourthly I searched online for some ideas of beats to make my song more interesting, then I searched beats on garage band, I then united garage band beats together and edited them to make them more interesting for Mr. O’Toole to listen and like, then I found a conclusion to make a good ending as last time my ending was pretty trash. I then reviewed my entire song to check for mistakes. I showed Mr. O’Toole and he told me some feedback such as editing more that I then used to improve my song.

Assess your success against your assessable criteria from your proposal… *
My music was about 1min55 which is around 2 min so it made the criterion, I had 20 loops in total in my song which passed 15 by far, the beats were solid and went together which was my goal as last time, the beats weren’t solid and didn’t go well together. As a result, my music was much better than the previous one which was pretty bad.

Evaluate your learning and new skills acquired. *
The new skills I acquired were how to edit properly and well to not just to say: ‘ah, Mr. O’Toole I edited, are you proud of me” I also learned how to synchronize beats together to make them fire, enjoyable and fun to listen to. I also learned how to go on the internet and search for beats to add to my garage band EDM and to search for some bright ideas.

What challenges did you face and overcome? *
The challenges I faced and overcome are how to concentrate in class. I overcame this challenge by not talking to anyone. I also ignored the other people that were trying to distract me by ignoring them too. Another challenge that I faced and overcame is how to go over my song and try to improve it by going over the misplaced beat and putting them on time.

Project genesis

What is the goal for your assignment? *
My goal for this assignment is to do EDM and to go to 2 minutes long no more.
Why this project? *
I want to do this project as I want to create something more interesting than the last time.
Outline/Process (Steps) to Achieve Goal. *
1) Create Chords
2) Add loops (to make the song better)
3) Cut the loops and the chords (to make more interesting).

What do you hope to learn? *
I hope to find and learn more loops.
What are the criteria you will use to self assess the success of your product? *

The criteria I will use to evaluate myself is not to go over 2 min, to not only create loops and to have not more than 15 total loops, but the beat also has to be solid, the loops have to go well together.

Sounds of CDNIS

Heat song

Describe the process of this assignment. *
In this unit, we focused on working on garage band and it’s different utility: sounds edit (exciter, compressor, limiter…) and their definitions, how to record sounds and finally how to use loops. First I took the edited sounds, then I cut them smartly to change the sounds completely so that they are not recognizable to make it more exciting and music like. Secondly, I chose other loops to add on to my edited sounds and I chose them carefully to make it more exciting and hype. Thirdly, I edited my loops by cutting them near the middle and separated them to make it more interesting and enjoyable for the listeners to hear. Then I went to the teacher to get some advice about how to make it better and he helped me a lot to improve my song. Finally, I went back to my seat, reviewed what the teacher told me and tried to replicate what he did later on in the song. Then I posted it on my blog and copied the link on google classroom for it to be graded.
Discuss your CDNIS sounds and how useful they were for your end product. *
My CDNIS sound were: Mikaeel saying hello there. I added a channel EQ, 2 compressors (to control the volume), an exciter, and a limiter. It was useful as it added a sort of background music. Oscar fake laughing during the music class. I added a channel EQ, 2 compressors, an exciter, and a limiter. It was useful as it added a sort of harpe sound to the background which made it interesting to hear. My Chinese teacher Mr. Wong saying in Chinese ‘Oscar don’t run in the hallways’. I added a channel EQ, 2 compressors, an exciter, a phase distortion and a limiter to it. It was useful as it was easy to cut in the middle for example I did: “Oscar ” cut then again “Oscar ” “Oscar ” after I wait for a while then put “d””d””d””d””don’t run in the hallways” and also it was good as a second melody. Last but certainly not least I recorded the water fountain outside the bathrooms. I added a channel EQ, 2 compressors, an exciter, a phase distortion and a limiter to it. It was useful as it was good for it to be used as a sort of sound that makes the sound flow better because the sound is monotone.

Grade 8 Science-Credible Scientist

We registered real data, with real objects such as a timer, real paper for the paper flyer, and a real ruler to measure the distance between the stairs and the floor. We dropped the whirlybird from stairs and when it started dropping we starting timing the drop and when it touched the ground we stopped the timer. We registered the data on a table.

The dependent variable was the time it takes for whirlybird to fall and the units measure where in seconds using a stopwatch, the independent is the number of paper clips.
