This is my assignment of :
Why did u try
The assignment missing the Melody;
I was not that dumb to let u hear me sing
Discuss your playing in regards to; timing, note accuracy, and rhythm accuracy. You MUST use music terminology:
I think my final piece was pretty good as far as timing. Both my Melody and my Strumming where pretty consistently in time. I could add a drummer in the background which would play to my melody and strumming and sound natural. While the recording was completely out of time, I was able to make it in time after some editing. However, my singing piece was not really in time since there were notes where I either did not sing in time, or I sung a note too long and had to switch through notes very quickly. I also could have improved on using the metronome as a guide while recording. I could have used it to give a general idea on when to sing, play, or strum each note. That way I would not have notes that are upwards of about 1-2 full beats away from their actual beat.
Overall, I am pretty happy with how my final piece sounded considering I have never played Amazing Grace or used GarageBand before.
Discuss your overall understanding of GarageBand and it’s processes. Note down what you learned about Garageband’s capabilities and how it impacted your song
After this project, I have grown a good understanding of GarageBand. I learnt how I could use this app to record music. Then add rummers and effects to make your piece personalised. I also learnt what you should and should not do to make your piece sound best. For example: I learnt that you should record while wearing headphones. You also must make sure your piece is in time or it will sound weird. GarageBand was really truly helpful for my song. It gave me a good platform to record and edit my song. I could easily start recording and easily adjust to meet my song. I could also easily put my piece in time and fix any mistakes I had. I also very easily added drummers and effects to make my piece my exciting. With this many features that someone like me who has never recorded a song ever could get the hang of quickly. I could say GarageBand is truly a good app for recording, and will provide a good foundation for music pieces I need to record in the future
Today , I went to a school called Ling ling Ying. This is a school that is not like CDNIS at all. They are only banned 3, which means they receive the least amount of money from the government, I was surprised by how there school was.
First, I noticed that there school was very environmental. They grow a lot of plants. I learned that they grew 10 different kinds of herbs which really surprised me. I like the green roof at CDNIs, but there school is like a green roof everywhere! They even make snacks out of the plants they grow, such as a snack they made for us which was a herbal dough with sesame wrapped in banana leaves. What also really surprised me is that hey actually care a lot about the environment. There school is clearly not as big and high quality as ours. But they are the most environmental school i’ve ever seen.
In our exhibition, I think you could help out this school. First, you could raise money to help this school get more equipment. For example, right now there sport ground only has balls. You can get them stuff such as discs, cones, ropes, footballs, and many others. Ot you could install some seats and lights in the cafeteria. You could even think about how you could apply things they do in their school to ours. I think for exhibition make we could make our school more eco-friendly. Such as growing plants or making more outdoors.

Last week we had camp at a place called Outward Bound. I had learned to use many of our Transdisciplinary skills, ASACK, and attitudes and attributes. First, we had to have a lot of responsibility throughout the camp. One of the biggest and best examples is packing. When you leave a place, you have to be aware that you are responsible for packing everything you need. If  you forget something, no one is there to help you and you could be in big trouble. For instance, if you forgot your water bottle before the hike, you cannot run back to get it, or can you borrow someone else. You will just get no water and learn to be more responsible for everything you need. Another we practiced during camp is being a risk-taker. We had to practice being risk takers during multiple activities such as jetty jumping or rock climbing as those activities required some bravery and you could not do it, but you should not give up. We also used many of our skills during camp. We used our social skills during many challenges such as trying to get everyone over a plank. Cam was really fun and we used many of our skills.
Through my Math Pre-Assessment and my Final Math Assessment. I once again showed some improvements. First, and also the thing I improved the most on is estimating. On my Pre-Assessment, I got no questions right on the estimating part because all my estimates were decimals. I also got some wrong for estimating in the wrong place. Now, I can almost definitely estimate numbers to the right place. I also improved on rounding by a lot. Before I used to always get a question wrong when it said “ Round to the nearest hundredth of a million” as I would always put something like 2.1 or forget the M. Now I can round to the nearest hundredth or tenth or thousandth of a million correctly and remember to add the M. I could extend myself to write more difficult answers for questions that tell you to write as many combinations as you can. Like the question that says “Write as many combinations to equal 10”. I could write easy combinations such as 1+9 or 2+8. But I want to extend myself to write harder combinations such as 2.468+7.532. Overall i am really happy with my grade but it could improve. ( Getting all Exceeding Expectations although that’s pretty impossible. )
For my Pre-Assessment for Unit 2 of math. I did horrible. First, there were many careless mistakes. There were a quantiful amount of calculation mistakes, questions where the answer was not what the question asked, and forgotten questions. Whereas if you look at the assessment, the amount of careless mistakes have drastically decreased. You could clearly see that there are no forgotten questions, no questions where the answer is not what the question says, and fewer careless mistakes.
However, made careless mistakes throughout the division and multiplication, but I know how to do division, multiplication correctly. I know the process. I can do it. During this test, many division problems I could do the questions I made careless mistakes on right now and do them correctly. But why I wasn’t able to do it correctly right now is because I was stressed during the test. When I feel stressed. You start to think incorrectly. For example, it is really obvious that 7-2 equals 5, however, when you’re stressed. You can accidentally think 7-2 equals 2 or 7-2 equals 9. I also need to improve on remembering to put units. For example, many word problems (E.g. How many cookies does each person get if there are 4 cookies and 2 people) In my notebook, many questions I just wrote an answer and no unit. Like the question stated above, I easily just wrote 2 and nothing else. I need to remember to write 2 cookies.
Finally, I have known a lot more from when we took the pre assessment to the final assessment. A good example is about equations. If you gave me a question like N+6= 3+7 , I could very easily say that N is 4 but cannot explain why in the pre assessment period, now, I can tell that N is 4 and explain how I got 4. (N+6-6=3+7-6 , N=3+1 , N=4 ). I have also learned what is properly showing work like. For instance, if a word problem said how many cookies does 5 people get if there were 10. You could easily just show your work and write 2 cookies. But that still does not prove you know why you did that, on the summation, I made many links to the word problems telling why was that number there.
During Literacy class, we made writing checklists to help us with our writing. A checklist is a list full of things that we need to improve on the next time we do a writing. I made my writing checklist due to what I got for my rubric in our final score in our memoir and start of the year persuasive essay. I included punctuation since I tend to make many errors in punctuation. A variety of transition usage since most of my transitions are located in in at the start of the sentence.( The sentence “Finally, the bunny stepped in a trap and died” can be changed to “The bunny stepped in a trap and struggled to free itself, finally, it couldn’t take it anymore and died.” ). I also need to improve on having a good title. If your title for an article selling tape was just “awesome tape”. That sounds really boring and probably nobody will bother reading it as the title sounds so boring. Whereas a title like “Tape that will change your life forever” sounds much more interesting and can actually attract people into reading your article. Also, I really really really need to remember to put my dates. I looked back at the book and probably 80% of the pages do not have any dates. Finally, I could improve on leaving the reader curious at the summary. An ending like “So I had a very happy time at London” does not do it at all. It leaves your reader bored as it does not have he/she think about anything, but instead just close the book and get another. Whereas an ending like “Going to London can seriously change your life on how happy you are”, an ending like that can really have your reader thinking about going to London.
For our 6B assembly, we hosted a Box of Hope presentation. I enjoyed wrapping boxes in class the most as it was really fun and interesting (Much better than Math). In the Forum, we had to communicate by listening to each other to make sure we do the right thing in the right time. In the class, we had to participate by communicating with each other to get all the kids to wrap a box. I learned that everything in our assembly has a function. anthems are to respect your country, Box of Hope is to help underprivileged children. We also learned responsibility since each person was responsible for his or her or its part. We had to use action too. It makes me think how much we take for granted. although it does not have that much effect, it makes me think that i should not demand for a billion things during holidays (iPad, AirPods, an iPhone, new water bottle). It makes me think about how poor these children are and how happy they are when they see the box of hope. Even common day items we own all the time is like treasure to them. (#awesome).
In my first reading groups, It was not so good. I remember how my questions use to be very straight forward and did not include much thinking. Like a question like “Why did jack do this”. now, my questions require more thinking and are not straight copies
Our discussions did not really change. Apart from the fact that we can now eat snacks, we still have fun talks and are interested to find out what other people think about our opinions.
This is a reflection my teacher taught me
It helped me a lot as if everyday I reflected. It dramatically changed how I improved my errors and my self-awarness . If i didn’t do this, I would not have understood what self-awarness is.
