And I choose Gravity

Gravity is a force which tries to pull two objects towards each other. Like the gravity holds Earth and the other planets around the sun. Gravity is what gives you weight. Howimgres much gravity an object has depends on how big it is. The closer you are, the stronger the gravity.

Today for my home learning, I choose to do UOI and it is about steps of the Scientific Method like my other blog post. But this time our class have to do research instead of writing what we think the steps are.

 

  • Ask a question

 

  • about something that you observe
  • How, What, When, Who, Which, Why, or Where?

 

  • Do Background Research

 

  • use library and Internet research to help you
  • insure that you don’t repeat mistakes from the past
  1.      Construct a Hypothesis

Good Hypothesis:

“If _____[I do this] _____, then _____[this]_____ will happen.”

  1.     Test Your Hypothesis by Doing an Experiment
  • repeat your experiments several times to make sure that the first results weren’t just an accident.
  1. Analyze Your Data and Draw a Conclusion
  • collect your measurements and analyze them to see if they support your hypothesis or not.
  1. Communicate Your Results

Home Learning-UOI Experiment

This is my home learning about the experiment in UOI. 

Which ball fall faster, a golf ball or a tennis ball?

Would height influence or change your results in any way? Why?

I think height would change your results because if the height is different, than the time will change. So sometimes it is best if you decide on a height and use a measuring tape then the results won’t change. I think the height will change your results because the of the time. When the length is different, it will take more time for the ball to drop so the time will change if you drop the ball at different heights.

Home Learning-UOI Experiment

 

Hi, this is my blog post about the home learning. Home learning are about what we did in UOI. In UOI we did a sketch note about what are the steps to figure out which ball falls faster, a golf ball or a tennis ball. So we have to answer one of the questions on the bottom.

 

  • What went well with the experiment? What didn’t go well? What could we do differently?
  • Was the test a fair test? Could someone else complete the test using only your notes? Why or why not?
  • What did you have to do for the materials or experiment section of the experiment? Did you get any results?
  • Why were some people’s weights different for the same tennis or golf ball? What was causing this difference?

 

I chose question number 3. I haven’t done the experiment yet, so I am answering something that is similar to question 3.

What do you need to do to make the test fair?

What I think the main thing to make the test fair is measuring the height so I won’t drop a ball further than the other ball, because if we don’t measure than our results will be wrong. Also other people might follow our steps and they will get the right answer, so they won’t trust you anymore.

Another thing to make it fair is to not cheat with the results. Then the same thing will happen, they won’t trust you once they figure out the right answer and also you will get into trouble.

Home Learning-Self Selection

Today for my home learning I have to answer What is the most important part of being a scientist?

One thing that I think is important is to never give up, because they won’t make a new discovery. Another reason is if they give up we might not have some thing we have right now. The second reason that is important is to enjoy what you are experimenting or making. When you are enjoying, you are having fun. If you not enjoying, it is like you are annoyed and don’t want to experiment.

Experiment mean to me that we try things about what we are learning about. If we made something, we see if it works. 

Energy means to me that energy is something we have especially when we are in P.E or playing sports. Energy is also what give us power to do stuff.

That is what I think experiment aimgres copynd energy means.
