Dove Evolution🕊

चिंता मत करो! चिंता मत करो!

chinta mat karo! chinta mat karo!

(don’t worry!don’t worry! in Hindi)

Readers don’t worry! there’s not going to be a group of doves who are evolved and are really smart who might take over the word! it’s nothing like that. It’s just this video i’m going to ask people about their perspectives towards it!

The Video:

Our class assignment was to see different peoples perspective towards an advertisement.(that is why I needed to ask people about their perspective toward this video). We were supposed to work in pairs so I worked with Samantha to see peoples perspective towards Dove Evolution. The whole class was to make a survey to ask different people. This is how our survey looks like.

Only 6 people took there time to fill in our survey.
4 of them were 9-12 years old and 2 of them were over 50 years old.
If you were over 50 years old then you would have thought that the video was funny and educational. You would thinks it’s funny and educational because the video shows how technology can change the model and it can be such a big difference after you put make up and change your face.
If you were a child you would have thought that the video was educational, weird and disgusting. You would’ve thought the video was weird, educational and disgusting because it means adverts aren’t real and because they stretch the model’s face.
If you were over 50 then you thought this video was targeted to young adults, adults and senior citizens.
If you were 9-12 then you thought this video was targeted to teenagers, young adults and adults.
Some people thought the meaning of this video was so they could get people to buy their products while others thought that the meaning of this video was to show how fake advertisements actually are.
Most people thought the creators were successful in spreading their message, but some people think they are not.
The people who said that the message was successfully spread said the reason was … It shows you can be as pretty as a model if you use their product and they recorded the process of making an advert.
The people who said that the message was not successfully spread said the reason was … the audience might not like how the creators created the video and it does not make it clear that they are trying to promote a fashion brand.

#THECRAZYCLUBHOUSE😋

So you might be wondering why I did #THECRAZYCLUBHOUSE as my title, well I named it that way because I’m talking about my crazy and weird clubhouse!

Basically in math we’re learning about perimeter, area and volume of 3D shapes. To do this we made our own clubhouses and measured the area and perimeter of the clubhouse base.We also measured the volume of the whole clubhouse. To make our clubhouse we were only allowed to make it out of 3-5 shapes. The options of what to make your house out of were, triangle,Tall Skinny’s cousin(a.k.a a shorter and fatter rectangle),Tall Skinny (a.k.a a rectangle) and a cube. We were also asked to use to shapes as our base. This is how my clubhouse turned out to be!

WARNING!!!

If you die by seeing ugly, crazy and weird things then stop reading this post and go watch some cartoons.

OK,But I warned you…

Clubhouse 1

clubhouse 3Clubhouse 2

Clubhouse 4

See I told you it was ugly and weird…

Anyways we also had to report about our clubhouse’s Area,Volume and Perimeter.

Here’s my report:

Math Report

Well thats all for now I guess.

Unit Vocabulary

Caram, és bo estar de tornada (Wow it’s good to back)

Language:Catalan

Seriously! after all the hard work in school I really need a break by writing and what’s a better way than writing to all my friends from the other side.Anyways I’ve done a lot at school but i’m going to explain some thing really important to our new unit.

P.S our unit is STP(Sharing the Planet) and our central idea is Human Behaviour Affects the Balance of the Ecosystems.

So basically there were categories to choose from to add onto our unit board.

The categories were:

Tundra Food chain,Grassland food chain,Fresh water food chain, rainforest food chain and unit vocabulary.

I chose to participate in the findings of unit vocabulary, but Samantha also chose unit vocabulary so we were partnered up.Unit vocabulary was about finding new vocabulary that was connected to our unit then find the definition of the word.

Since we were a team of two I found the words while Samantha found the definition. Here is our list of words.

Now I know what your thinking…

WOW Mischa that’s a whole lot of words!

Well it actually isn’t.That’s why i’m really disappointed in Samantha and me for finding such little words with loads of time!

Anyways this is only the document. Here is our real poster.

Well yeah.

I guess that’s all for today!

Tuning Into HWEO

Copy of Vote for Mischa Wono

Our (Samantha,Aidan and me) first learning task in HWEO was to make a poster that would vote me for lower school student council.

We did this because we were learning about how People can create messages to target and influence specific audiences. Our target audience were Canadian International School Lower School Students.

In order to target our audiences we used different techniques such as having a big colourful title, adding interesting photos(unfortunately some of them turned out black and white), a speech and adding stuff about what the students may want.

We thought our audience would feel glad, excited and amused but they actually felt supportive and amazed.

I have a few questions about our central idea. They are:

1.When advertising is the way you look important?

2.How long is a really boring advertisement?

Generate-Sort-Connect-Elaborate

สวัสดีจากด้านอื่น ๆ !S̄wạs̄dī cāk d̂ān xụ̄̀n « !

(hello from the other side! in Thai)

Hello from the other side my fellow virtual subscribers!

Now I’m guessing most of you readers out there don’t know theGenerate-Sort-Connect-Elaborate strategy is so before I tell you what i did with this i’m going to tell you the steps to it. Ok so imagine if your teacher puts all of your classmates in different groups, then she gives you and your group an opened ended question where all of you have to present all the possible answers and connections on a piece of paper neatly. Now it’s hard to cooperate sometimes in groups and make things look neat, but if you use the Generate-Sort-Connect-Elaborate strategy then you’ll have no problem cooperating and making your work look neat. Generate, first you and your group members should generate ideas on post-it-notes.Now when your done that you can then sort, you and your groups can decide categories and if you have any of the same ideas on the post-it-notes then just choose one to use.Connect, now you can connect different ideas together if  their similar, even from different groups.I’m guessing that some of you readers out there don’t know what elaborate is, well elaborate means to present it on a piece of paper and by that i mean paste all of your categories and name them on a piece of paper. That’s it! Finally finished! Now what i’ve also guide you through is the steps of what me and my teammates(Sarah and Finn) did! You can see the picture below and  our Generate-Sort-Connect-Elaborate was kinda messy, but it was fine because our teacher didn’t mind.

Well that’s all for now virtual readers! Bye

Mind Map 1

THE 3RD LAW!!! (Rated Really Boring for Those Who Those Who Don’t Like Science)

مرحبا  marhabban

(Hey there in Arabic)

First of all I would like to point out that THE 3RD LAW is actually Newton’s third law of motion and that you will now be reading about science! Be warned that if you are not a fan of science then you will certainly be bored reading this.

Okay so this week my class inquired into Newton’s third law of motion. For every reaction there is a equal and opposite reaction. Now when the class was done inquiring into Newton’s third law of motion it led to some questions. Now don’t get mad at me but I don’t remember all the questions but I remembered one of them. If we raise the stand higher will the reaction force be greater. Now I remember that one because I was one of those people who inquired into that question. The reason I say I was one of them was because others participated in different questions. Now I had to work in a group of 4.My teammates were Ben,Zara and Elizabeth. Ben and Zara were the data collectors , Elizabeth was the one who set up the area and I was in charge of measuring the reaction force. Now as usual we always had to come up with a hypothesis. You can look at my hypothesis below, and trust me the data below is reliable because we tried it like 5 times!on the piece of writing below you will be able to see  sketch note. That will explain the science behind it.I am not going to write here because I already drew it out for you! Also you will have to see the conclusion of our experiment below because I am just too lazy to write it for you, also this blog post is getting a bit too long.

White Hat:I learned that every reaction has an equal and opposite reaction.

More SCIENCE!!!

Åh min Gud!

(Oh my God! in Danish)

Oh My God! I can’t believe you’d actually want to read this! I mean all i’m talking about is science! and this is just going to waste your time!Well it’s your choice I guess but don’t say I didn’t warn you!

Okay so last week our class wondered if a heavier object or a lighter object and you can see below what my guess was.( The guess is the hypothesis). We decided we’d answer the question by experimenting with inertia carts. I had to work with a group to answer the question. You will be able to see how we experimented in my sketch note in the document above. Ashley,Anise and Nate were in my group.Nate was helping us record the data while Anise and Ashley were the ones who set up the area and pushed the inertia cart.I was the one who measured the distance the inertia cart travelled. After all the testing we finally got the answer. Now i’m not going to tell you what the answer was because you can just see from the document below.

Yellow Hat: I enjoyed this example of my learning because I really felt like I contributed to the task.

White Hat:I learned that Newton’s second law of motion  was that

Falling Objects?

Haigh!

(hi in Irish)

Hey you guys last week me my class had an experiment because we were wondering if a heavier object will have to fall faster or a lighter object will fall faster. We had to make a hypothesis (a educational guess) before we tested it out. Below you will be able to see my hypothesis and data that I collected. Only me and another classmate thought that the objects will fall at the same time.

Thanks for reading you guys!

Blue Hat:I enjoyed organising my ideas this way because it is neat and it is an easy way for me to look at my data.

White Hat: I learned how to create sketch notes and how drag is the force that pushes things upwards.
