Persuasive Argument Skit Reflection

Today, we made a persuasive argument skit at school. First, we got into groups of 4 and started planning on what the skit was going to be. At the end we all decided on kids trying to persuade their parents to get a pet. We did it because we wanted to try different camera angles. We did it by using a tripod to record the film and edited it on iMovies. I learned how to take videos from different angles. Me and my group had a lot of fun making this video. This technique will help me in the future to advertise a product and persuade people to buy it.

Our Advertised Poster- Unit of Inquiry

Hi! Last Friday, me and my group made a poster about saving animals and helping them find a home, it was called “Money raised is a Puppy saved.” Our target audience were CDNIS students. We thought people would like the poster because we added a lot of pictures and gave them details about why we were doing it, when it was going to be, where it was going to be held and who we were donating to. I think our poster was quite effective because a lot of my classmates came to see it, but some of hem said we didn’t add enough information.

Height Jump Experiment

Hi! Today, me and my group did a Height jump scientific investigation. We did it to see who could jump the farthest and why. My hypothesis was right because Calvin jumped the furthest and he is the strongest. We had to use addition and division to get the average.

This is how far we jumped:

Name: Laurel     Height (cm): 137    Distance Jumped (cm): 1#95 2#99 3#111      Other Observations: sport shoes & shorts

Name: Anika      Height (cm): 128    Distance Jumped (cm): 1#96 2#113 3#115    Other Observations:

Name: Chloe      Height (cm): 137    Distance Jumped (cm): 1#115 2#123 3#120  Other Observations: dress shoes & a skirt

Name: Bianca    Height (cm): 134    Distance Jumped (cm)1#131 2#137 3#134     Other Observations: dress shoes & a skirt

Hi again! Acceleration is an object that speeds up it’s rate. Acceleration is measured by Newtons (N). Yesterday, we had a design challenge and we had to make a thrilling start to a roller coaster ride out of a meter stick, cardboard, paper, a marble and a pair of scissors. We split into groups of 2 and we had to make a slope so that the marble will accelerate down.

My Christmas Trip to CANADA!

My Buoyancy Map

Hi! Today, I made a map about buoyancy. You can float on water because the fluids and force is pushing you up. If you go into the water the volume of the water will push the water up because you would take up some of the space.

This is my map:

Metal Math Strategies

Today, I learned new kinds of math strategies from khan academy videos or the math is fun page. One of the math strategies that I learned was called: Do the Tens Last. For example: if I were going to figure out what 16+9=, I would break 10 and 6 from 16, then I would add 6 and 9 which would make 15, then add 15+10 and that would make 25.
