My Buoyancy Map

Hi! Today, I made a map about buoyancy. You can float on water because the fluids and force is pushing you up. If you go into the water the volume of the water will push the water up because you would take up some of the space.

This is my map:

Metal Math Strategies

Today, I learned new kinds of math strategies from khan academy videos or the math is fun page. One of the math strategies that I learned was called: Do the Tens Last. For example: if I were going to figure out what 16+9=, I would break 10 and 6 from 16, then I would add 6 and 9 which would make 15, then add 15+10 and that would make 25.

History Museum Reflection

Last week, I went to the history museum. I learned about the Opium Wars. There were 2 Opium wars in Hong Kong. Opium is a drug that people can become addicted to. The Chinese tea was popular in Britain but not in China. So Britain wanted take over China. In order to take over China they kept sending Opium to China. A lot of people died once they became addicted to it.

The Emperor Daoguang  was very upset about the situation so he ordered Lin Zexu to stop the problem. Lin Zexu ordered for all the Opium that had been shipped to be dumped in the sea.

The British got furious and stopped all trade with China and headed for Macau. The British blew up 4 Chinese boats. They were in war for 2 years 1840-1842, Britain won. Britain and China both signed the Treaty of Nanking. Under the Treaty China had to pay Britain 21 million ounces of silver for destroying the Opium and opened 5 Chinese ports in order to trade British currency.

How to make a bar graph

Hi again, Today I made a bar graph about shapes and asked my classmates what their favourite was. I used a tally chart to record my data. Then I created a bar graph to display the data I collected using an online tool that allows you to record your information. I hope you like this online tool that I used to make this bar graph.

My Multiple Intelligences

Hi! This is my multiple intelligence quiz results that I think you would like to try out, you could use your intelligence strengths to learn. For example you could be good at visual spatial but not very good at logical mathematical, so you could do visual note taking on math instead of writing in notebooks. I hope you like the multiple intelligence quiz.
