Home Learning

Weekly Routines

This year, in Grade 3, home learning is different than what you might have previously experienced. Mondays, your child will bring home a home learning grid with a variety of different learning engagements to support your child’s learning in the current unit.

Each night, your child is expected to spend between ten and twenty minutes completing ONE activity. He/She may start brainstorming ideas on Monday, getting to work on Tuesday and Wednesday, and a quick revision, edit, and final touches on Thursday. Home learning is to be returned to school on Friday for a home learning gallery walk and share.

Of course, each evening, your child is also expected to read. This can be done independently or as a shared read with a family member.
