Take a peek.

Inquiry

Old Games
For our unit of inquiry, we played games from the past.  The class split into 3 groups.  Each group went to a different set of 6 activities, and learned games that were played in the past. Children noted that some of these games are even played today.  Thanks to Jaye and Tammi and my son, Sameer  who came to support student learning!

Mr. Woods shared the story “A Fine, Fine School” with us, and we discussed the importance of striking a balance, engaging in a variety of activities in our daily lives in order to be an effective learner.
In Math, we continue to look at story problems related to time by the hour and half hour.  Children are simultaneously being exposed to read digital and analogue time.
We are also reviewing addition and subtraction concepts, especially focusing on the thought process/ strategy in use.
In Language children are focusing on vowel phonemes in words so that more accurate vowel grapheme choices are being selected when writing.
In LTT children are working on typing skills, they are independently playing games that encourage familiarity with keyboarding skills.
