This week in 4D…

  • we worked on two new descriptive writing pieces and compared ‘telling’ sentences with ‘showing’ sentences
  • looking through a Thesaurus we generated many vocabulary ideas to include in our writing
  • we had a ‘math talk’, identifying and sharing strategies for multi-digit multiplication
  • students worked on a complicated 2 digit by 1 digit multiplication puzzle
  • we have continued with our research on how a tool/technology from the past has changed over time, and now students are summarizing their findings in a Google Slides presentation
  • in our process journals, students identified evidence of them displaying each of the attributes and attitudes we have focused on this unit
  • we trialed ‘Flocabulary’ as a fun way to learn multiplication and division facts
  • students participated in a very solemn Remembrance Day assembly on Friday morning

Next week…

  • we will start the week with another coding lesson with Ms. Fung
  • we will spend a few days wrapping up our current unit and then begin our new unit under the theme of How the World Works
