Programme Overview

The LS PSPE Programme is composed of 3 strands: Identity, Active Living, and Interactions.  These 3 strands focus on developing the overall well-being and character of the students.

The balanced curriculum is divided into 5 areas each with a Central Idea as a focus for each of these 5 areas.

Individual Pursuits - Central Idea: There are a number of ways to influence individual performance.

Movement Composition – Central Idea: Movement can be linked together in a sequence for a variety of reasons.

Team Games – Central Idea: Success in games depends on skills, rules, strategies and sportsmanship.

Cooperative Games/Adventure Challenge – Central Idea: Individuals and/or groups use different strategies and skills to solve problems and accomplish a common goal.

Health Related Fitness – Central Idea: Striving for a higher level of fitness is beneficial for a person’s overall health and wellbeing.

Some activities that students will engage are, fitness circuits, basketball, soccer, track and field, swimming, Capture the Flag, t-ball, relays, team handball, gymnastics, dodgeball, sports day…
