I first thought that suicide was the worst social offense, because I believe killing yourself is extremely selfish to your friends and family. Then I members of the group I was in said that killing someone for revenge is worse, because it’s killing someone else instead of yourself, so it’s not the person you kill’s choice to die.
The social offense that is the least of my concern is killing someone in self defense. When someone tries to kill you, sometimes the only way to stop that person is to kill him/her. If you kill someone in self defense, you aren’t really killing someone deliberately.
I would never do any of the above except to kill someone in self defense and to lie to my parents. The rest are very bad social defenses but I think sometimes to lie to your parents is not a big social offense. Sometimes you lie to keep them happy, a lie is not only used to harm someone.
Which social offense did you decide to be the most serious? Why?
I believe killing someone for revenge would be the most serious social offense because it involves someone else’s death. If you kill someone just because they caused you discomfort, you would end up in a really bad situation.
Which social offense warranted the least of your concern? Why?
I believe cursing would be the least social offense because you could easily get away with it by simply apologizing. This also applies to showing an obscene gesture.
Which of the above social offenses would you never participate in under any circumstances? Why?
I would never participate with selling poison because it could harm someone in the end because of my actions.
Choose one of the social offenses that you think might be acceptable for you to do under certain circumstances, but not others. Explain when it is acceptable and when it is not.
I believe cursing would be the acceptable to do under certain circumstances because there are somethings that might get you unhappy which might cause you to accidentally swear.
Which social offense did you decide to be the most serious? Why?
I decided that killing someone for revenge is the most serious because not only that killing someone is already a serious offense, but killing someone intentionally and for revenge makes the situation even worse.
Which social offense warranted the least of your concern? Why?
Planning to trick someone warranted the least of my concern because I feel that it is not exactly a serious offense yet until the person actually performs the trick on a certain person. It also depends on how serious the trick is.
Which of the above social offenses would you never participate in under any circumstances? Why?
I would never kill someone for revenge because not only is it a criminal offense, but also because violence is never a way to solve problems and would only make the problem worse and a never-ending conflict.
Choose one of the social offenses that you think might be acceptable for you to do under certain circumstances, but not others. Explain when it is acceptable and when it is not.
I think that planning to trick someone would be an acceptable choice. However, I would only do it under the circumstances of playing around and joking with my friends. Often, planning tricks on friends would not be a serious offense or result in to much damage or conflict because they would only take it seriously on rare occasions. On the other hand, it would be unacceptable under the circumstances of strangers because there will be more risks and consequences involved due to miscommunication or character mismatch.
Out of all offenses listed above, I ranked Two families having a feud as the most serious, even though many may disagree with me. My justifications for the choice I’ve made is mainly the repercussions that the feud between two families will have on each of their individual family members. Two people who may have once been friends would be torn apart by the agressions between the two parties, and this mindset can continue to vest itself into the youth of the families, having them grow up to hate the other party, something I find disturbing and unjust.
The offense that I identified as the least concern would be Cursing. Perhaps in modern times the meanings and use of curses has changed from that of Victorian times, but curses nowadays are used as loosely and in such blase formats that it is no longer as serious.
I would say that the one and only offense listed above that I would under no circumstances participate in would be to Pick a fight with another individual. I find such an act to be performed by those lacking in morals and integrity. Also, to engage in physical violence is something that I, among many others, frown upon as we stand by the belief that there is in most circumstances another option, no matter how undesirable, that is an alternative to violence.
The murder of someone in the name of vengeance is a topic I find to be one that is in some cases justified. Although contradicting to what I previously stated about condemning violence, it is at times justified, such as in scenarios where a man murders another as the other had killed his, say, brother. Not saying that I would kill readily, but the killing of someone in revenge is not a offense I would condemn.
Which social offense did you decide to be the most serious? Why?
I feel suicide is the most serious. This is because it is something horrible, to think that the person was so depressed, that they thought the only solution would be to end their life. It is not committing a horrible crime. In fact it should be looked at from a perspective where you feel horrible for the victims and those who surround them, and you try to prevent it as much as possible.
Which social offense warranted the least of your concern? Why?
I chose offensive gestures as the least of my concern. This is mainly because you are not actually saying anything that people will most of the time hear (like swearing) If it is just a gesture, someone may not notice it. Also For teenagers, it has just become something that doesn’t bother us too much.
Which of the above social offenses would you never participate in under any circumstances? Why?
I would never partake in killing someone for revenge. This is something completely socially unacceptable. Also, it is something preventable. There are many other ways to solve an issue, with out having to kill someone to get that satisfaction of revenge. The saying “two wrongs don’t make a right” completely relates to my issue with this. No matter what the other person may have done, i will never kill them for payback, instead i will find other ways to settle my emotions and the issue.
Choose one of the social offenses that you think might be acceptable for you to do under certain circumstances, but not others. Explain when it is acceptable and when it is not?
I feel planning to trick someone can be acceptable for you to do under certain circumstances. Since it is not a specific topic, it can range from something completely fine like planning to tick your friend to do something for fun, to something less expectable, like a bully planning to trick a victim. Also it says you are only ‘planning’ to trick someone, so you are not actually doing anything, just thinking of it in your head.
The social offense that I decided to be the most serious was killing someone for revenge. This is because death is one of the most serious and immoral acts one can do to another person; it takes away the life of a human being. Death is a serious offense in the modern world that ends any future of a person and when it’s for something that clearly was a deliberate act out of revenge, it doesn’t give the offense any excuse to make it acceptable.
The social offense that warranted the least of my concern was planning to trick someone. This is because tricking someone occurs in everyday life and doesn’t harm anybody physically and only to the slightest, mentally. To trick somebody only fools with their mind, as long as the consequence doesn’t end up involving any violence or death because that’s more than just a “trick”. Tricking somebody is a usual thing that even friends do to each other, that’s why it’s to the least of my concern.
The social offense that I would never participate in under any circumstances is selling poison. This is because it is an immoral and foolish act that only harms the innocent citizens and doesn’t benefit myself in any way. Even if I were poor and really needed the money, there are always other alternatives to make positive impacts in your life rather than wasting your time doing no good. Large amounts of poison should not be freely accessible to the people in the first place, so selling it would just result me into serious consequences as well as endangerment to the lives of others.
A social offense that I think might be acceptable for me to do under certain circumstances, but not others, is killing someone in self-defense. For instance, if a murderer were after you and if you hadn’t killed him/her, the murderer would’ve killed you instead, that would be an acceptable situation. Killing somebody in self-defense should be acceptable when it involves an intentional will to kill. Nobody can argue that that was a wrong thing to do. However, one should not kill in self-defense if the other wouldn’t have hurt you severely in the first place. For instance, if a knife swung by you, you cannot kill the person with the knife in self-defense when it was not deliberately done – if there were other ways to solve this issue, there is no need to kill. Put simply, killing should only be done when it is necessary and is the only option to protect yourself.
The most serious social offense is selling poison. One of reasons is selling poison can cause more deaths then killing for revenge, or suicide. Furthermore, one can think of selling poison as being a snake, and killing revenge as being a rhinoceros, both will ultimately lead death. It just depends of how, a snake just sneaks around, coming right up behind until it too late, it bites you and you don’t even see it coming! Who would’ve know that you were his/her target! As for the rhinoceros, they just coming running at you, you know it’s coming, they are aiming for ONE target. Would you want to know something will happen before it happens or be surprised by it, in a bad way? Who would you rather not be alone with? A snake or a rhinoceros in an arena, which one would you take more seriously? The snake – selling poison.
The least serious social offense would have to be giving an obscene gesture, because this offense will affect the least amount of people. Also, from the environment and society that most of us have grown up in, giving obscene gestures is something that isn’t really considered a “big deal” because many people do this, unlike selling poison or killing someone.
The one social offense that I would never participate in under any circumstances is suicide. This is because it is not in my character to feel sorry for myself, at times I will feel sorry for myself, I am human, but I wouldn’t feel sorry for myself to a point where I would try to kill myself. It’s just not in my character.
One social offense that I find to be acceptable for one under certain circumstances is killing someone by mistake while fighting. This is because this really depends on how you got there in the first place, one might question why you where fighting in the first place. Is it just fighting for the sake of fighting or is there a valid reason why? So the main factor that whether or not something is acceptable really depends of how the fight started in the first place.
Which social offense did you decide to be the most serious? Why?
Killing someone for revenge is deemed the most serious social offense because killing somebody is sinful enough, but doing out of revenge is selfish, irresponsible and insensible. This act is not done out of the goods or benefits to mankind, it affects and influences the community, mentally changes those connected to the people of the situation such as friends, family, colleagues and peers and encourages the same behavior to others.
Which social offense warranted the least of your concern? Why?
Swearing is the social offense warranted least in my concern because nowadays swearing is a common social offense witnessed everywhere: on the streets, on television shows, even school. In a way, swearing and cursing has become a part our teenage culture and way of expression, therefore it is least of my concern.
Which of the above social offenses would you never participate in under any circumstances? Why?
I would never advise someone to marry for money, sell poison, kill for revenge or have a feud with another family. These social offenses are not common in this era, and with the protection and supervision under our government we may not even come in touch with such events. Also education has modified our way of thinking, so such offenses may seem absurd to do so.
Choose one of the social offenses that you think might be acceptable for you to do under certain circumstances, but not others. Explain when it is acceptable and when it is not.
Honesty is the best policy, as some people may say, but under certain circumstances when done for the benefits of our parents we may lie to them. If they are of old age, cannot process a lot of information, or just to make them happy, we may choose to lie to them because we love them. Another thing that is exceptional under certain circumstances is killing someone in self-defense. Of course, killing is a sin and must be punished when done, but when threatened, attacked or harmed, sometimes either as protection or reflex we may kill someone as a self-defense. It should be greatly avoided, but if the situation is really met then it is best to only wound the attacker and escape. Only in life and death situations may we do such a social offense.
I chose that killing someone for revenge was the most serious offense because ending a life is against the law and unethical. Also, killing someone just because they have wronged you and wanting to get back at them, is all about one’s emotion and we can control that emotion therefore, we can control ourselves before doing something drastic.
The least serious offense is crashing a party because in my opinion, people normally won’t care much about someone ruining a party as opposed to killing someone. It is also something that people get over easily, while people will mourn the dead if someone was killed.
Out of all the above offenses, I would never participate in any killings and suicide because I believe that ending someone’s life is not up to anybody and I would not go to the extreme of suicide under any circumstances. However, cursing or swearing would be acceptable under some circumstances for instance, sometimes I can’t control my anger and the words come out through the influence of my emotions. Also, the circumstances include who we are speaking to such as elders, parents and teachers because they should have our respect and that it is inappropriate to curse in front or to them.
I decided that “Killing someone for revenge” as the most serious offense because you would be going out, with a purpose to actually a kill a person. On the contrary, “Killing someone by mistake in a fight, or killing someone in self defense” isn’t as serious because your aim isn’t to kill a person, it is killing to either protect yourself or by mistake.
The social offense that I’m least concerned about is “Cursing/swearing”. This is because of the fact that everyone has sworn or cursed out of anger before, and swearing and cussing won’t affect others physically. (Unlike many of the other social offenses) Swearing and cursing is a way to blow off steam, and won’t hurt anyone seriously or physically unlike many of the other social offenses.
I would never participate in killing someone for revenge, because I don’t believe that I have the right to take the life of another living being, and that our justice system will make a more rational and unbiased judgement for punishment.
Giving an obscene gesture would be a social offense that I wouldn’t mind doing under certain circumstances. It shouldn’t be acceptable anytime, but the only scenario where I imagine this would be acceptable is during a fight or a quarrel. This is because an obscene gesture isn’t causing physical harm, yet it is giving a strong message to the other person or people.
The social offense that I decided was the most serious was ‘killing someone for revenge’. I think the ultimate crime would be to cause intentional harm to someone because of something that happened in the past.
The social offense that warranted the least of my concern was ‘cursing’ because as an adolescent, cursing or using swear words at some point while your socializing has almost become expected. Sometimes the occasional swear word can slip unintentionally and it seems wrong to consider it a huge offense.
Of all the above actions, I would never partake in selling poison. Knowing that what you’re selling is going to kill someone and not even knowing who is going to be killed seems immoral, ignorant, cruel, and demeaning.
A social offense that I think would be appropriate in certain situations and not in others would be lying to your parents. It would be appropriate to lie to your parents if it was to protect their feelings with consideration that there wouldn’t be any future consequences. It would be wrong to lie to your parents for example if you’ve committed a illegal offense or anything of great seriousness.
1. I decided killing someone for revenge is the most serious social offense because two wrongs don’t make a right. For example, if a person kills your father, going after him just to kill him won’t allow you to achieve anything. It would only leave your heart with sorrow, anger and emptiness.
2. I deemed marrying someone against your parents’ wishes to be the least serious of the fourteen social offences because everyone has their own right to decide who will be their lifetime partner. If your parents aren’t allowed to pick your clothes, why should they chose something even more important.
3. I would never participate in selling poison because the vendor of poison must be of the lower class and low education. Secondly I would feel extremely guilty if I had sold something to harm other human beings.
4.Killing someone in self defense is acceptable when the attacker has a killing attempt on you. But if you are just in a small fight with your friends and you accidentally kill him in “self defense”, then it would be against the law of the society.
1. Which social offense did you decide to be the most serious? Why?
Personally, I decided “Suicide” is the most serious social offense. I think an issue generated within yourself, usually based on a situation with others, is a bigger problem compared to other offenses, such as my second choice of “killing someone for revenge”. A problem created between 2 people can be more easily resolved, but I believe suiciding is the stage that comes after that problem. It is when one cannot seem to find the solution, therefore leading to over thinking and resulting with usually mental illness (e.g. depression).
2. Which social offense warranted the least of your concern? Why?
“Crashing a party” warranted the least of my concern as I think this situation occurs all the time when referring to a teenage age group. The level of seriousness varies based on the different age groups though, for example, if it was an important launch party held by your parents for work, you wouldn’t crash it as it would lead to major consequences. Compared to other offenses relating death or sickness, I believe it is a less serious offense.
3. Which of the above social offenses would you never participate in under any circumstances? Why?
I would never participate in “killing someone for revenge”. I think it’s acceptable when people disagree with each other, creating distance, or fighting/arguing in general. It begins to become unacceptable when situations get too serious, such as hurting one another physically. Emotional pain can be resolved over communication, time, but physical pain is something that you can’t take back, as sometimes they leave a permanent mark.
4. Choose one of the social offenses that you think might be acceptable for you to do under certain circumstances, but not others. Explain when it is acceptable and when it is not.
I think “planning to trick someone” is acceptable under some circumstances, such as coming up with a prank on April Fools, on their birthday, or just a regular fun joke between friends. It isn’t acceptable when these pranks begin to get personal, such as purposely setting them up to hurt someone (physically or mentally). Generally, it is alright as long as both sides understand the humor within and nobody gets hurt.
Which social offense did you decide to be the most serious? Why?
Killing someone for revenge is the most serious offense. This is because killing is the ultimate crime, and in this case, it is one’s own decision to commit the offense, rather than being forced to. It harms others the most (by ending their life), comparing to the other offenses.
Which social offense warranted the least of your concern? Why?
Killing in self-defense warranted the least of my concern, because it is not really one’s wrong-doing if he or she was forced upon it. If one kills because his or her own life is threatened, it is acceptable to defend yourself.
Which of the above social offenses would you never participate in under any circumstances? Why?
I would try to never participate in all of the social offenses, because they are all harmful actions. Although some offenses are comparatively mild, it is best to avoid doing all of them.
Choose one of the social offenses that you think might be acceptable for you to do under certain circumstances, but not others. Explain when it is acceptable and when it is not.
I think marrying against parents’ wishes is acceptable if the parents’ wishes are unreasonable, such as marrying someone you don’t know at all, or that you don’t like.
Which social offense did you decide to be the most serious? Why?
I think the most serious offense would be killing someone for revenge, because that is an intentional offense, and it is caused because you want to, and circumstances won’t force you into committing this type of serious offense. Killing someone for revenge takes a life away from someone without any desire or permission from them, and hence it’s really selfish, because you don’t have the right to kill anyone even if they might have done something wrong, because it’s not your job to choose whether one should die or not.
Which social offense warranted the least of your concern? Why?
Cursing would be the social offense that would be the least of my concern, because at some point of time, everyone will swear- maybe it’s because you’re happy, sad, mad or frustrated…etc. Cursing may be rude at times, but it doesn’t really hurt anyone physically or mentally deeply unless you take it too far, so it is acceptable for me. Also, cursing help express feelings, and it may be used to release stress or emotional feelings, so it is the offense that would be the least of my concern.
Which of the above social offenses would you never participate in under any circumstances? Why?
I would never kill someone for revenge under any circumstances, because killing someone for revenge will make me feel no better with the strong feeling of guilt and regret. It is a really ignorant action, and it will do no one good, so I’d rather do something else than spend time to plan and kill someone just for revenge. For example, if my friend kills my family member, I will feel hatred inside me burning, but I know that even if I kill my friend for revenge, I will never be able to change the fact that she still killed my family member.
Choose one of the social offenses that you think might be acceptable for you to do under certain circumstances, but not others. Explain when it is acceptable and when it is not.
The most acceptable social offense for me to do under certain circumstances would be cursing or doing obscene gestures, because I would do some cursing sometimes to myself when I really feel the need of it, and need to express my feelings. This is acceptable for me, because it is just another way for me to scold other people and communicate with myself without hurting anyone or starting a conflict.
Which social offense did you decide to be the most serious? Why?
The offense that I thought was most serious was killing someone for revenge. The reason I thought this was the most serious offense was because the fact that first of all, killing someone is a serious crime, depending on which country this offense had occurred, the worst scenario that can happen to the killer would be death penalty or sentence to life. Secondly, just thinking or even planning to kill someone for revenge is already a wrong choice. If that person has done something wrong to you, the person should receive justice, which is really different from revenge. Receiving justice is what that person deserves, revenge is one paying back for what they have done just to make themselves feel better. Killing one back for revenge is just as bad as the person who was wrong first.
Which social offense warranted the least of your concern? Why?
Cursing/Swearing was what I found least serious. The reason for that is because everyone must have sworn at one point in their lives. I’m pretty sure the nicest, and most respectful person in the world must have sworn some time in their lives. It happens because people swear around us all the time, and listening to that word too much becomes a habit for a person, and in time, that person will swear unknowingly and only after that will they realize that it has become a habit.
Which of the above social offenses would you never participate in under any circumstances? Why?
Between selling poison and killing someone for revenge. I decided to choose selling poison because I’ve once thought of killing someone for revenge when I was younger, and thinking about it is almost just as bad as doing it. I would never sell poison because first of all, I will never join the underworld society where people are taking drugs and selling drugs everywhere. Selling poison is even worse than taking it myself. I would rather take it myself than to sell it since I would only harm myself, but if I sell it, it will harm other innocent people who doesn’t know the effect of drugs.
Choose one of the social offenses that you think might be acceptable for you to do under certain circumstances, but not others. Explain when it is acceptable and when it is not.
Lying to parents is one social offense that isn’t acceptable, but at times it is okay depending on the situation. Since everyone must have lied at one point in their lives. We must’ve lied to parents and teachers at one point in our lives, but as we grow older we know better that lying will just lead to more lies, and in the end the truth still comes out. Lying is the same as hiding your fears it only lets you hide for awhile, sooner or later you would have to face it no matter what. It is definitely not acceptable to lie when your parents ask you have your report card or grades come out yet, and say no when it was already handed out to you. However it is acceptable to lie to cover for a friend or a sibling since you’re doing a good cause. For example, when your friend breaks something at your house, your parents furiously ask who did it, then lying and saying its yourself would be acceptable since you wouldn’t want your friend to feel ashamed or embarrassed in that kind of situation. You would rather have your parents scold you instead of your friend.
Which social offense did you decide to be the most serious? Why?
I felt that killing someone for revenge is the most serious social offense one may do because not like the others they are not preventable whereas killing someone for revenge is very preventable. This can be solved in other ways other than killing someone.
Which social offense warranted the least of your concern? Why?
I felt that social offese that concerned me least was crashing a party because crashing a party just means that you are attending a party that you weren’t invited in to. So that isn’t honestly a crime but you will probably just leave a short term unhappy phase to say the party hosters.
Which of the above social offenses would you never participate in under any circumstances? Why?
I would never participate in killing someone for revenge because I know it’s wrong and unacceptable and also, it is preventable. I can use an alternative way to take out my anger.
Choose one of the social offenses that you think might be acceptable for you to do under certain circumstances, but not others. Explain when it is acceptable and when it is not.
I think that killing someone for self defense can be acceptable under some circumstances because sometimes, if a psychopath was coming to attack you then you can obviously try to shield yourself but if that doesn’t work there is no other choice than to kill him for your own sake.
The most serious offense is two families having a feud. This is because it involves a significantly larger group of people than the other offenses. If history has taught us anything, it’s that small feuds can lead to a sequence of events of utter devastation and extremity. The least consequential offense is advising someone to marry for money. This is because this kind of degradation of social morals are commonly seen. An example would be prostitution. This is considered more extreme since people are selling their bodies for money, losing both their self-respect and dignity. However, this is considered the norm in today’s society and nobody really cares. Ultimately, since money is used as a tool of persuasion and self-fulfillment, this kind of offense is too common to be considered a serious social offense. I do not believe that any of these social offenses should never be transpired. The topic of the rights and wrongs of suicide is highly controversial, In most cases, suicide would not be appropriate. Firstly, after a stage of immense depression, people will think that ending their life will solve their problems. However, psychiatric symptoms always get better ergo, no matter what mental mishap an individual may have will eventually heal. Secondly, since humans are egocentric beings, the priorities in their actions are mostly to themselves first. There is no point of suicide since in most cases, it offers no benefit to an individual whatsoever which renders this action futile. Having said that, there is also an exception where suicide should be an valid option. It becomes a rational choice when an individual is in a no-win situation is critical and is situated to be an absolute lost cause.
I think that killing another person for revenge is the most serious social offense. Taking revenge for something someone has done in the past should never be taken; That person should be forgiven depending for what they have done. Harming someone is already a serious crime, but killing another human is completely unacceptable. The feeling right after killing someone for revenge might make you seem good and accomplished, but it will also give a sense of sorrow and deep regret afterwards.
I think that marrying against parents’ wishes are the least of ones concern. Although it might affect ones reputation in the future, parents wishes should not too much of an influence. The person should be able to choose his/ her own future, not let his parents decide. Respecting ones parents are important, but the parents should also respect the person’s rights.
I would never participate in killing someone for revenge, suicide and advising someone to marry for money. These two things are completely unethical, and should not be tolerated in any shape or form.
To me, planning a trick on someone and killing someone in self defense are the only ones that are tolerable in certain cases. Planning a trick on someone should not be too offensive or affect the person negatively. A trick should be kept as a trick, not over extending and harming another. Killing someone in self defense should only be used in the most extreme situations. This is very serious since it involves the death of a person, but should still be kept under control and used reasonably.
Killing someone for revenge is the most serious social offense as there is no reason one is legally able to take away someone else’s live. Also, killing is not the ultimate solution for avenging as this is not peaceful and may cause a chain of deaths. Forgive and forget.
Crashing a party is a social offense warranted the least of my concerns as this only causes temporary emotional unease for attendees of the party and no physical harm occurs. Even if this causes the party to be dismissed and the fun for the night is ceased, another party could be organized on another day.
I would never participate in advising someone to marry for money as this usually ends in a ruined relationship and if the person was in desperate need for money, other alternative solutions could be found to earn the money. Also, marriage is a decision with a life-long effect. The final choice should be made by both individuals and not by anyone else, therefore, advising them would be useless as the couples listen to their own hearts sing their true love out.
Planning a trick on someone is a social offense that I think would be acceptable under certain circumstances, but not others. An example of planning a trick on someone that is acceptable: April fools day, I place a whoopee cushion on my sister’s seat at the dinner table. This is acceptable as the setting is appropriate and the victim has a close relationship with me. Placing a bucket of water on top of the only door into the exam room would be unacceptable as the mood is stressful and the victim, student or teacher, is possibly a stranger and they would probably miss out on the exam.
The most serious offense is killing someone for revenge because even if one feels another has done something wrong, they should not take their life for revenge, as it is a very unjust action. Instead of killing, there are many other ways to take payback that are less serious. Also, one should consider if it is even necessary to do so first.
The social offense that is least of my concern would be cursing or crashing a party. Cursing may be offensive and insulting, but it has become so common in our society today, that it almost doesn’t matter most of the time. Crashing a party may be tragic to someone, especially if the party means a lot, but in the end, it’s just one party and a few hours of your life. Cursing and crashing party is nothing compared to killing someone or yourself.
Under any circumstances, I would never participate in the social offense of killing someone in self-defense or revenge. This is because I think that killing someone is just morally wrong and there is no reason why anyone should do that at any time. The thought of this is just cruel and unreasonable.
The social offense that I think might be acceptable to do under certain circumstances but not others would be cursing. If it is used under extreme situations or when the word would hold value or meaning, then it would be acceptable to use. However, I don’t think cursing should be tolerable if it is for purposeless uses or if it unnecessary.
1. Personally I chose Killing someone for revenge to be the most serious offense as killing or murdering is not accepted in a society.
2.I chose Cursing to be the least serious offense as it is pretty common now days.
3. I would never Suicide. It is very selfish and honestly I dont have the right to kill anyone, so as myself.
4. I think Killing someone by mistake while fighting is somewhat acceptable. However it is not acceptable when you do it intentionally.
Your responses are too brief and lack detail and depth. Please re-submit.
1. Suicide. The act of intentionally killing oneself, contemplated and committed only by the people with little forethought and a lot of shame. This selfish act evokes much pathos in the people who surround one’s life. The person may have escaped the ever-demanding grasp of the responsibilities in life, but the ensuing sorrow that they have plunged their beloved ones into has an indelible and maybe even unforgivable mark.
2.Profanity really isn’t that big of a deal. Swearing and offensive gestures are used when one wishes to express intense antipathy towards something. Profanity has been present in many cultures, and it’s all about semantics and staying calm. You can choose to swear or use a different, more subtle word or just remain serene about it.
3. I don’t particularly fancy selling poison to someone and intentionally harming another life. If there is absolutely no enmity between us, then it’s naturally irrational and illogical for me to do something like this.
4. Killing someone for revenge. I would only plot for such a revenge if someone were to harm my family members. I suppose it’s a visceral and innate feeling I have. In addition, if World War III ever transpires in my life-time, I am definitely willing to eradicate all enemies foolish enough to cross the path of the glorious PRC (I am also willing to make a self-sacrifice if the day ever comes).
The social offense I consider to be the most serious is to kill others for revenge. Revenge only breeds hatred, and vice versa; it is a continuous cycle that can’t be ended unless someone backs down and decides to forgive the offenses the other has made. Additionally, there is nothing that killing or revenge can possibly achieve. Nothing lost can be gained, but something else precious will definitely be lost.
Crashing a party is the least of my concern, since it does not harm anyone in particular. It might be putting a stop to the entertainment the party provides to its guests and also cause an anger buildup, but it does not deeply hurt anyone’s feelings or harm anything.
The activity I would not ever commit under any circumstances is to kill for revenge. Not only would it be going against my own morals, but it would also build a heep of guilt inside of me, and possibly keep me in trauma for life. Additionally, to link this to the first answer, I wouldn’t like to continue with the chain of hate. If I were to kill someone, that person’s dear somebody would kill my beloved ones as well. As much as possible, I would like to keep my loved owns alive, and have them not die from foolish reasons such as a revenge.
One of the social offenses I would commit would probably be marriage against parents’ will. Unless my parents have a legitimate reason to be against my marriage, such as that the man is a criminal, I do not think that parents should dictate whom I marry. If that man in my eyes is a good man, then I don’t believe that a parent should stand between us.
Killing someone for revenge was the most serious social offense, because I believe that nobody should purposefully take someone else’s life to satisfy his or her wishes. Is revenge truly necessary to the point that someone should die to solve the problem? I could hardly think of a single reason as to why anyone would need to get rid of another human being to find satisfaction.
Cursing was the social offense I decided was the least serious, because nowadays, people seem to use it often enough in their speech for it not to mean much except to emphasize their emotions. Although that does not justify swearing at all, it seems more socially acceptable in certain situations because of how common it has become. The commonality of swearing seems to have lowered the level of its offense over the years.
Of the social offenses listed, I would never pick a fight with someone, because I believe that violence does not solve any issues; rather, it is more likely that the conflict would worsen because of it. I would not be involved in a family feud either, as I should not judge someone simply on my impression of his or her family; after all, it may not have been an accurate perception of what the family really is like. If the family is really unpleasant, it should not be any of my business. Lastly, I would never even think of wanting to committing suicide, since there are always ups and downs in life, and I have faith in living life to the fullest and enjoying every second of it that I can.
The social offense I would find acceptable only under certain circumstances would be planning to trick someone, because it never specified exactly how serious the trick in question is. If the trick is referring to a light practical joke, I would most likely be able to understand and tolerate it. However, if it is as serious as planning a hoax to steal someone’s belongings, I would find it completely unacceptable and outrageous.
I think killing someone for revenge is the most serious social offense because you are actually taking someone’s life just for getting back revenge for someone you hate or did something wrong to you. Even if they have caused you pain, killing is a more serious issue and it should not be resorted to lightly. For example planning to trick someone or lying to parents are not as serious because even if you are doing a wrongdoing, it is not death we have to deal with.
The least of my concern was cursing because everyone does this all the time and it doesn’t exactly harm a person physically, only a bit mentally which goes away after a while because it is so petty. I’m sure everyone in the world cursed at least once, and most of them are not towards any particular people but instead for themselves when things goes wrong.
I do not think I would ever be selling poison, because the moment I give it to the hands of someone else, I wouldn’t be able to stand the shame of the thought that I may be causing someone else to die after taking the poison. No matter who this person is and whatever circumstances it would be in, I would never be the one out there selling illegal death-causing products to the world.
Which social offense did you decide to be the most serious? Why?
I decided that killing someone for revenge is the most serious social offense because there is no real reason for a person to be killing someone else out of hatred. Other social offense have some sort of reason to it, and killing someone for revenge could be a result of another situation, however, nothing should lead to killing someone.
Which social offense warranted the least of your concern? Why?
I chose cursing as the least of my concerns when it comes to social offenses because foul language can be heard and seen anywhere, such as in music, books and on the televisions where children and people can easily pick up on the words. People now just naturally know and use foul language, so it’s not a huge offense.
Which of the above social offenses would you never participate in under any circumstances? Why?
Social offenses such as killing someone, selling poison, advising someone to marry for money, and suiciding would be ones I would never participate in under any circumstance because I believe that no one deserves to be killed even if they have done something extremely harmful to someone else. Many people think that suiciding is a choice to leave the world and forget all the pain, however I think that if you commit suicide, your families and friends will be in pain the most, and I don’t want to hurt anyone close to me.
Choose one of the social offenses that you think might be acceptable for you to do under certain circumstances, but not others. Explain when it is acceptable and when it is not.
I think it is acceptable to plan to trick someone if it’s just a small prank you pull on your friends, such as scaring them when they walk out and just having fun. However, I believe it is not acceptable if you intentionally plan to hurt someone through your prank, because you shouldn’t hurt someone for amusement.
I chose two families having a feud as the most serious social offense, as it is the least forgivable or justifiable, and almost always in vain. Two families involve many people, dragging all of the members, including the innocent, into a pit of loathing and vengefulness.
The least serious social offense that I chose was cursing, as it has become colloquial in usage. It is also because words could potentially mean anything, as definitions of words are abstract concepts in my eyes (as curses could have originally been defined as something else, depending on the etymology), whereas the other examples are clear offenses with concrete destructive meanings (other than obscene gestures, that was second least serious).
Of the above social offenses, I would never participate in a feud between families, the sale of poison, or the picking of a fight under any circumstances. The sale of poison is a means to allow harm to others outside of my immediate influence, so it is uncontrollable. I would also never pick a fight because the provocation of another person is neither unassuming nor tactful.
Killing someone in self defense is acceptable for me (and the law) under certain circumstances. This would be of course if my life were in immediate danger, with no way to escape my attacker without harming him/her. Even though I may feel threatened, it would not be acceptable to kill another person as long as they are not in the act of murdering me. Once they attempt to take away my right to life, it allows me to take away theirs, but not if they are running away or are no longer an immediate danger.
1. I decided that the most serious offense is killing someone for revenge because if a person slaps you across the face for fun and you killed that person, then this offense is the most serious. I believe it all depends on what the revenge is.
2. The social offense that i think is the least of my concern is suicide because you didn’t affect anybody if you only look at the effect of it. However, if you look at the cause everything will be different.
3. I would never participate in the offense selling poison because It is just wrong to do.
4. I dont think any offense is acceptable, but sometimes I do it even though it is wrong. For example, cursing. The reason i think none of them is acceptable because I am Christian.

Which social offense did you decide to be the most serious? Why?
I thought to kill someone for revenge was the most serious social offense. It is wrong to take another’s life for any reason at all, and to end someone’s life for someone they had once done to you is not only selfish, but also ineffective. It does not solve anything, and only leaves you with the aftermath and guilt of taking a life.
Which social offense warranted the least of your concern? Why?
Of the social offenses listed above, suicide was the least of my concern. Unlike all the others listed, the act of suicide does not really affect anybody else but yourself. It does not harm anybody else, and will not impact others or affect their lives negatively.
Which of the above social offenses would you never participate in under any circumstances? Why?
I would never participate in the act of killing someone for revenge and advising someone to marry for money. By doing so, I would be greatly affecting another’s future.
Choose one of the social offenses that you think might be acceptable for you to do under certain circumstances, but not others. Explain when it is acceptable and when it is not.
I think lying to parents can be acceptable someones. Someones we lie to others about serious things to protect them. For example, you might lie to your elderly parents about the death of a loved one to avoid a heart attack that could kill them.
Which social offense did you decide to be the most serious? Why?
Killing someone for the purpose of revenge, is in my opinion the most serious social offense out of all. Killing is not considered favorable in any situation, but killing someone on purpose is the worst reason to ever do so. Taking away someone’s life because of one’s personal reasons is not correct, even if it is to avenge what that person did.
Which social offense warranted the least of your concern? Why?
Cursing warranted the least of my concern, because although it shows the lack of courtesy in a person, it does not and cannot severely harm a person. In addition, cursing as a behavior is constantly seen in our everyday lives, whereas murdering is not. This does not mean that it makes this behavior a good one, it just weighs down the importance of it.
Which of the above social offenses would you never participate in under any circumstances? Why?
I would never in any circumstance murder someone for revenge, because no matter how angry I am at a person, there is no good reason for me to take away a soul for that.
Choose one of the social offenses that you think might be acceptable for you to do under certain circumstances, but not others. Explain when it is acceptable and when it is not.
Crashing a party is acceptable under the circumstance that the party is a fun and casual one, not creating a commotion if I went uninvited. But crashing a party turns unacceptable in situations like weddings or any other formal events, because it is considered very rude, and crashing into such exclusive parties would lead to great trouble.
Which social offense did you decide to be the most serious? Why?
I decided that killing someone for revenge was the most serious because it is immoral to end someone’s life due to personal feelings towards him/her. Not only, but killing someone to “solve” hatred is not a proper solution. There are verbal ways to solve the problem.
Which social offense warranted the least of your concern? Why?
Killing someone in self-defence is the least of my concern because there are no intentions of killing the other person. If someone else is trying to kill you, naturally, you will fight back in order to prevent yourself from getting hurt or potentially killed.
Which of the above social offenses would you never participate in under any circumstances? Why?
I would never participate killing someone in anyway because physical violence does not solve anything, and only results to more problems and injuries, or perhaps even worse, death.
Choose one of the social offenses that you think might be acceptable for you to do under certain circumstances, but not others. Explain when it is acceptable and when it is not.
Cursing is acceptable during certain circumstances to emphasize on something, or to show extreme feelings. It is acceptable as long as it isn’t meant to offend anyone. For example, showing your love/hatred towards a TV show is okay, but using curse words or anything offensive to describe a person is not acceptable.
Killing someone for revenge should be the most serious offense, since it involves the murder of a human being that is done intentionally, instead of a killing that is done accidentally or in self-defense. The victim’s life is being taken away simply because of someone else’s desire to revenge.
Crashing a party should be the least serious offense out of all, since it does not really harm anyone in any way, and any issues arising because of this could be easily resolved.
The things that I would never do out of the above list would be to kill someone for revenge, killing someone by mistake in a fight, and committing suicide. First, I would not deliberately kill anyone just because of a need for vengeance inside me, nor would I be so careless to take away one’s life while fighting. Also, committing suicide is just plain stupid, as it is my destiny and life-long goal to survive under all circumstances.
I would sell poison to others if I know that it’s being used for things such as rattraps. However, if the buyer’s intention is to murder someone with it, or any other kind of illegal activity, I would reject the sale of my poison in that case.
The social offense that I decided to be the most serious was to kill in revenge. Firstly, I believe that you should forgive someone for anything that they’ve done. Even if you can’t, try to forgive. Revenge will never end well. Secondly, life is everything. To take it away from someone is the worst offense anyone can perform.
The social offense I thought was the least concerning was marrying against parent’s wishes. If you truly love someone, then your parent’s idea or family grudges shouldn’t prevent you from being together.
I would never participate in killing someone for revenge, selling poison, killing someone by mistake while fighting, suicide, and picking a fight as they might lead to someone’s death.
Lying to parents is something that most, if not all, have done. It is acceptable when you are lying for an honorable cause such as protecting someone for harm. It becomes unacceptable when you are lying to protect someone for being brought to justice for something that they DID do.
1. I picked “Killing someone for revenge” as the most serious social offense. This is because the person doing it out of anger and they do not have a large enough understanding of why the other person did what they did. Killing someone for revenge is just unacceptable and people should try to understand the situation before committing such an extreme act. Always try to forgive before taking extreme actions. In addition to that, revenge is not good and the person should try and work it out.
2. I picked “Cursing” as the social offense that least worries me. Even though this can hurt others very greatly, if it is not very strong and is a joke to both sides (saying and hearing), it is not that horrible. As long as the other person knows that the cursing is meant as a joke, it should not be considered a big social offense. However, it all depends on when, where, and why the person is cursing.
3. I think I wouldn’t ever participate in “Killing someone for revenge”. This is because I know the consequences that would follow if I did end up doing that. I always try and understand the other side of a situation before taking actions; and honestly, I would try not to associate with people who would end up doing things that would make me want to kill them. Also, I think society plays a big role in this. When such a big offense is committed, it seems that the whole society would start to look down upon you and deliberately try to avoid and ignore you. Since I would not want that to happen to me, I would try and keep myself as far away from this situation as possible.
4. I think in some situations, it would be OK for me to curse. It is acceptable to curse when you are with your friends and they know it is a joke; when no one will actually be hurt by it. It is not acceptable to curse when the words are very harsh and will hurt someone else, physically or mentally. It all depends on the degree of seriousness when the person is cursing, is it a joke, or will it hurt someone so greatly that they will be driven to suicide?
1. I decided that killing fo r revenge is the most serious out of all the offenses. Killing itself is a horrible crime, and doing so in revenge just makes it even more serious.
2. I think cursing and swearing is the least serious social concern because, unlike most of the others, they are only verbal offenses and does the least harm to others.
3. I am least likely to participate in selling poison. I feel that if the poison is used to kill something or someone, then I am the killer.
4. I feel that crashing a party is not outrageously out of hand, and I don’t really see a problem with it, the only circumstance I see that it would be inappropriate is when it is a major event, like a wedding.
1. The social offense of marrying against parents’ wishes in my opinion is the most serious , as back then being disrespectful to your parents (and elders in general) was considered extremely irresponsible and was not tolerated.
2. Crashing a party was the least of my concerns as it is not considered a crime but instead simply an annoyance.
3. Killing someone for revenge is something I would never participate in as it is completely ridiculous. The thought of someone being killed because of a mistake or miscommunication is unthoughtful and unjust. People make mistakes and revenge is not something that will help solve problems. Killing, itself is obscene and shouldn’t be used as a way to get revenge on someone no matter what the circumstances are.
4.Killing someone in self-defense I think might be acceptable to do under certain circumstances, and the option of doing so is usually during a life and death situation which requires immediate self reflex . It is acceptable during an intense fight where a knife or some sort of weapon is being used, as that can potentially harm the victims. On the other hand it is not acceptable during a small fight or argument as it is probably not serious enough to lead to death.
The social offense that I decided was the most serious was killing someone for revenge because it is someones life and you purposely took it away from them just because they did something that might have caused you pain.
The social offense that warrants the least of my concern is marrying against parents’ wishes because you and your parents are separate beings so you are entitled to make decision on your own and not have your parents intervene.
The social offense that I would never participate in is killing someone for revenge because i am usually a very forgiving person.
One social offense that I would accept is cursing because they person probably has a reason and only needed to blow off some steam by spouting vulgar language.
Which social offense did you decide to be the most serious? Why?
Killing someone for revenge- No matter how guilty a person is, he still has the right to live. No human in this world has the superiority to take a life, only punish.
Which social offense warranted the least of your concern? Why?
Cursing- Cursing is simply a way of expressing anger, which we will all occasionally have and will eventually fade.
Which of the above social offenses would you never participate in under any circumstances? Why?
Lying to parents- No matter how hard I try, I simply can not lie to my parents as I am a terrible drama student. Secondly, it is immoral to lie to someone, everyone has the right to know the truth, no one in this world has the right to conceal the truth from the people.
Choose one of the social offenses that you think might be acceptable for you to do under certain circumstances, but not others. Explain when it is acceptable and when it is not.
Killing someone in self-defence, this is acceptable under certain circumstances as it is permitted by the law, but it is immoral to take a life. Ideally, you would want to have the assaulter arrested rather than taking his life.
