It has been an exciting and eventful first week in 6C, with one of the highlights being the ‘naming’ of our learning community. After a lively discussion and voting process our class has decided to call ourselves the 6C Cookies, with our class blog being entitled The Cookie Jar. What a creative of group of learners!! We began brainstorming a few ideas about phrases related to cookies, such as ‘a smart cookie’, computer cookies (HTTP), and ‘that’s the way the cookie crumbles’. Do you have any phrases that use the word cookie? If so we would love to hear from you. Please add you ideas as a comment to this post.
As parents of 6C know, this has been a week dedicated to establishing routines, developing class essential agreements and getting to know one another. We have created a first draft of our essential agreements and have shared them as a video and in written form on our blog. We will be refining these guidelines next week and will share the final version once it is completed. As a part of our exploration of how we would work together in 6C, we took a closer look at the PYP Attitudes. The students worked together to investigate their meaning and created posters to share with the class.

There are a number of important events coming up in the Lower School and I encourage you to check this blog frequently for updates and information. I will try to keep the “Important Dates” current and for long range planning, please refer to the calendar tab at the top of this page. I would also suggest that you subscribe to our class blog. To learn how to do this, Ms Fung from our fabulous LTT department has created an informative tutorial. While most information will be shared through this site, there are times when I will need to contact you privately with email. Your child will bring home a contact information sheet today and I encourage you to fill it in and return it to school on Monday.
I look forward to working with the 6C Cookies this year and hope you are able to visit The Cookie Jar regularly to share in our learning journey.
