Bon St. Valentin!

Grade 5

Over the next few days, students are going to ask and tell each other what they are wearing, and describe the colour of their eyes and hair.  While students practice in class, they are urged to use the new words with family and friends.  Oral presentations on the topic of describing oneself  are scheduled for next week!  Ongoing are exercises in the phonetic booklet.

Grade 6

What is all this hype about La Francophonie?  Students in grade 6 have discovered that francophone means “an individual who speaks French”.   Francophonie means all things French and as shared in class, aspects  include: music, artists, food, words, books, shops and countries.  Over the next week, students will be working in small groups to explore and present a French-speaking country.  Students will investigate the specialties of their chosen country and a popular area seems to be food!   I am really looking forward to seeing the finished product.  The posters will be displayed around the school during the month of March when La Francophonie invades Hong Kong with a host of French films from all over the world.
