Week 1

Dear Friends,

It has been a fantastic first week in 3A! We are so lucky to have such a wonderful group of children. Liz and I are very excited to be a part of this lovely community of learners. We spent a lot of the week getting to know each other, establishing essential agreements and norms, and getting in to the routine of G3.

There was a big focus this week fostering a positive environment that enables us to challenge ourselves and each other while feeling safe and having fun. We did several activities to help us figure out what everyone needs so that we could create our essential agreements.

It has been wonderful getting to know everyone this week. The children have really enjoyed sharing and learning about everyone in our classroom.

One of the greatest things about being in Grade 3 is gaining access to the Junior Library. Ms Williams took us on a tour of the “new” library and helped us get familiar with the new rules and procedures.

We focused on fun challenges this week in math learned a lot about mistakes and having a growth mindset. Ms. Ross came in to share some fun games and activities with us.

3A’s Class Parents
Thank you to Christina and Veronica for volunteering to beĀ our class parents for 3A! We look forward to creating opportunities for parents to be a part of our learning and organizing exciting events.

Communication and Agendas
Agendas are used by students and build responsibility. Please use email as it is the easiest form of communication. We will not be signing the agendas every morning in Grade 3. Instead, it is up to the children to share with Liz or myself when there is a note from home.

Seesaw
We will be transitioning to Seesaw in the near future. As for now please continue to check here for all information as Seesaw is not operational yet. The children still need to learn how to use the app and begin posting before we share with parents.

Classroom Communications and Forms
There are stillĀ several medical and dental forms that have not been returned. Please help your child return them to class. Also, several students returned the medical forms but did not include the $30HKD. Please send this to school in an envelope with your childs’ name on it.
