This week, we observed Peace Day by talking about what this means to us: caring, sharing, being kind, quiet, being respectful. We created peace flags to add to the display created in the lobby and got to hear Grade 3 classes perform a song.
We learned about paying it forward, when we read “Ordinary Mary’s Extraordinary Deed”. Then we learned about Mrs. Cooper’s niece, who has been taking action over the past few years to help raise money to help build a playground for a girls school in India. This led to a discussion about different ways we can help people, even with simple actions.
We did a Lava challenge, where we had to try to cross the playground without touching the green grass. This helped us to learn about working together

then we continued with Lit Blitz by going to the Book Fair as well as celebrating books by dressing as our favourite characters.
