Invitation to Audition – Shakespeare’s Macbeth

Dear Parents,

Hong Kong Shax Theatre Group (香港莎士比亞戲劇團) is delighted to invite your child to our audition for Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Our 11th production, Macbeth, is scheduled to perform at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts on April 14, 2018 (Saturday). We are staging the play in its original, Shakespearean language at 7:30pm at the Drama Theatre, with a possible matinee show at 3:30pm. We are now recruiting child actors aged 8-12 for our scheduled evening show.

The Hong Kong Shax Theatre Group is a registered society under the Society Ordinance in Hong Kong. We are affiliated with the University of Hong Kong as most of our members are undergraduates, postgraduates and alumni of the University. We have been receiving support from the University for rehearsal venues and publicity channels since our establishment in 2010. You may find more information about the group on our website www.hkstg.org. You may also visit www.shaxspeakershk.com for more information about our founder and artistic director, Rosalind Wong.

The audition for child actors will take place at the University of Hong Kong on October 28, 2017 (Saturday). The exact location and its details will be sent to you after we receive the completed audition form.

Please kindly read through the documents attached in this email before returning the audition form. Should you have any questions regarding the production or the audition, please feel free to contact us and we shall answer your questions the best we can.

We look forward to seeing you at the audition!

What is going on in 5D?

Don’t forget to check out the class presentation for the current unit to view the learning engagements and resources that we are using to understand the Central Idea: Circumstances and actions can support or deny access to rights and opportunities.

Also, we have our Google Classroom which is our online space to post our work, comments and questions. Your child will be able to show you.

A big thank you to parents that are commenting on the student blogs. Your feedback is very useful and makes our work more authentic when we know people are actually reading it!
