I hope you enjoyed the long weekend and short work week! This week we have continued to work on our debates. We thought that they would be ready for today, however more work needs to be done, so we will continue next week. Today the students created groups with students from other Grade Three classes and began ‘Literature Circles’. This is great opportunity for the students to learn a ‘love’ of reading, develop comprehension strategies and get to know other students in the grade level. Please support the process by carefully reading the blog titled ‘Literature Circles’ and supporting your child at home.
In Maths we have continued to look at different ways of representing division and multiplication problems. There are still some students who need to develop their understanding of the relationship between multiplication and division. Please help your child with this at home if you notice they are having difficulty.

Lower School Transition Event: Wednesday June 13th, 2012
The Lower School will once again hold a Transition Event for all students in Pre-Reception to Grade 5, to provide students with some orientation to their Grade level next year. This important event has 2 main goals:
• For students to see the faces and places for the 2012/2013 school year
• To learn about the key program features and opportunities that will be new and unique to the grade level.
The event was very successful a year ago, and it provides a positive, forward-looking focus for the students as we close out this year. It will take place on the last day of school, Wednesday June 13th from 8-9:20 am. (Pre-Reception and Reception parents please note the date for this event is still tbd)
