The cold winter weather has come and I forgot how long it takes to get students jackets on before recess. Luckily we do not have snow pants! Please try to teach and let your child dress themselves as even the small task of putting on a jacket involves many gross and fine motor skills. We need to constantly let children try and learn things themselves. I understand that aunties/helpers might want to help but please encourage them to let the child first attempt at putting on their jacket.
Also, with the colder weather please change the extra clothes inside the school bag (it does not have to be CDNIS clothes).
We are really looking forward to our trip to the theatre to see Hairy Maclary on Wednesday 17th January. All students will meet at the Academy of Performing Arts (1 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai) at 11:30 AM with an adult who will stay with their child for the duration of the show. Students are to wear their school uniform, please. All students go home from the APA with their adult after the show finishes, please note there will be no school on Wednesday.
Parent Presentation for PreRec and Rec Parents
I will be co-hosting a workshop about our PreRec and Rec learning programme. We will be discussions about play-based learning and loose parts as well as an introduction to our newly designed Early Years Environment opening in 2018-19 school year. Please join us on Wed, Jan. 24th from 9-10 am in the Library Pit by clicking here to sign up.
- We are always looking for loose parts to use in the classroom. Please see this link for ideas as you might have some to give.
- People to come in and share their occupations and the roles they play within our community. Please email me a day and approximate time (around 10-15 minutes).
- People to come in and read to the students (email me and we can find a time)
