Each of your children has brought such joy and happiness to our environment. I was so fortunate to have such a wonderful group of learners this past year. I hope as the years go by you will all keep in touch. I love the fact that today’s technology can help us continue the relationships we have built. I encourage and welcome correspondence from you all. Over the summer break, I strongly encourage you to play and read to your child every day!
Please keep in touch over the summer I love hearing about your adventures. I will be back home with my family in Toronto but mostly at my cottage on Georgian Bay.

Thank you for subscribing to my website this year, as we are closing this academic year and getting ready for the new school term, I recommend you unsubscribe from my website so that you won’t receive updates intended for next year’s class.  Please follow these steps to unsubscribe to a teacher’s website. Hello,

Our end of year party will be combined with our friends from Pre Reception next door! On Wednesday, May 30th we will have a water fun day on the playground with various water centres. Please send your child in swimming clothes (bathing suit underneath with PE uniform on top), a towel and spare underwear to change into after. Please have them wear flip-flops or croc-type shoes that can get wet. Hats and sunscreen are a must! Class parents have organized potluck items for the classes.  Please place savoury items in Ms May’s room and drinks and sweet foods in our room. Water toys are most welcome but please label them!

Hello,

I want to thank everyone for the support and for coming out to the spotlight on Thursday. I was so proud of everyone and before the performance, I felt I was about to go on stage. I was never an actor but the butterflies I felt were the same for when I swam competitively or now when I watch my swimmers race. Thanks again for making it a great day for everyone.

Hello,

Next week is our big performance and more preparations have been happening this week. We also have two new visitors in our classroom that I am sure you heard about. We have on loan two guinea pigs. The kids have been so caring and kind to them and thank you for those who have sent in some food to feed them. The reason we have them is learning about different spaces animals have. The children have been busy building and experimenting with how to build the best space for them. We will have them in the classroom for another week so please come by and say hello to our newest friends.

I am away at the junior swimming championships in KL Thursday, May 10th, and Friday, May 11th. If you need anything please send me an email.

Hello,

We had another fun week in Pre Reception. We used the bedrooms photos to paint, draw, sketch and recreate our spaces at home with miniature houses. We also explored more spaces here at school. If you see your child rearranging or changing a space at home please document it and email it to me. I am starting a new action board in the hallway and I would love to see as many students as I can out there.

Learning conversations are next week, April 25th and 26th. Sign up closes tonight and if you cannot make it next week and want to meet with me please send me an email and we can find another time.

Hello,

We had a very busy week starting our unit on how spaces are used for various purposes. The students had fun rearranging our learning space in various ways, touring the school to see different spaces and had people come into read, cook and play with us.

Many of you already have but I am asking for pictures of your child’s bedroom. We will be using these for many activities. No one needs to be in the picture.  Also, if you see your child rearranging their bedroom furniture or asking you to, please encourage and document this. This is one of the ways we have talked about taking action.

On May 17th will be the Pre Reception Spotlight (end of the year performance). The morning AM class it will be from 8:00 am8:30 am and 12:00pm– 12:30 pm for the afternoon PM class. Please mark this date on your calendar as would like you all to attend.

I am still looking for a few people to cook for the remainder of the year so if you have time please sign up.
