This Week at School

by andreatessier on May 16, 2013

In math this week we continued to explore mapping by creating a map of our classroom and bedrooms and then learned to read them using coordinates. This understanding of maps will support our UOI in the weeks to come so we can use it to explore urban and rural areas with more depth.

We have begun an inquiry into persuasive texts and arguments through debating. This will allow us to practice our communication skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students started exploring what makes a persuasive argument and some knew that evidence and examples of supporting details were better ways to convince someone rather than bribery. We will continue next week.

Please note all library materials must be returned to the library by next week.
