Teacher Profile
My name is Alcides Campbell and this is my fourth year teaching Grade 3 at CDNIS. I was blessed with the opportunity to grow up in three different languages (Spanish, English and French), travel extensively and teach in different parts of the world. My journey as an educator and counselor has brought me here to the CDNIS community in Hong Kong.
My interest in teaching began at seventeen at the American Cultural Centre in Venezuela as an ESL instructor and then, for eight years at Berlitz International Language Centre in Venezuela as well.
I have taught Grades 3 – 6 in Ontario, Canada and Hong Kong. I also received a Master’s degree in Counseling.
I believe that regardless of culture, language or subject being taught, teaching is about children feeling safe and comfortable in one’s classroom where they feel supported and valued by their teacher and classmates, and are encouraged to express themselves free from judgement.
