Visual Arts, Upper School
As you walk the halls of CDNIS, it is apparent that there is a dynamic group of student artists creating amazing work. The Visual Arts are thriving with multiple classes at every grade level. As a result, our students gain acceptances to top Visual Arts universities around the world. Critical thinking and problem solving skills are developed as students research, investigate, experiment, explore ideas, and evaluate the innovative work created by themselves and their peers.
Enter a studio and you will witness the creative process as students develop skill sets with a variety of traditional media techniques as well as emerging media. As students investigate a wide range of genres, themes and more mature sophisticated concepts, they explore a myriad of ways to communicate their artistic intentions. Students make connections as they research historical, contemporary and cultural contexts, looking for the commonalities that connect us all and to develop their own personal visual expression and individuality.
