I can use my very own style to express my feeling and also I can use different tones to express my feelings. I also try to include different vocabulary when expressing my feelings.

I believe that dystopian novels are so popular among teenagers today because they have a mysterious energy and create a fantasy for them. They usually have an extraordinary setting with a exciting plot.

Unit 2. Short Stories (Theme: Family)

Reflection Questions
– What did you enjoy about this unit (content, activities, etc.)? Explain

I enjoyed this unit really much because there are a lot of interactions between people and we needed to train our speaking skills. I also trained myself to listen to other people’s perspectives while understanding the main topics of each story.

– Which short story was your favorite? Why?

My favourite story was the story named On the Side Walk Bleeding, I find this story very interesting because it is a horror story, which I really like, and I understood more about stereotypes.

– What did you enjoy and find challenging about the summative assessments (fishbowl discussion and/or writing your own short story)?

Sometimes I find it hard to analyse my story and talk to my friends about my analysis since I am sometimes afraid that I gave the wrong answers. I also sometimes have a hard time expressing myself.

– Which ATL skills did you display throughout this unit? Take a snapshot of a piece of work as your evidence and explain.

I find myself getting better at communication through this unit. I talked more during group work and became more involved during class. I also found that I used more English to communicate ever since this unit as it has developed confidence for me to speak English.

– What are the elements of a short story?

Plot, setting, character and theme.

– What causes change in a character?

There are different elements that can cause change in a character, such turns of events or traumas. For example, a character may experience change in personality after a close relative dies.

– Is change inevitable?

Yes, because we are bound to experience different events that change our perspectives on different things in our life. People must experience changes at some point in their lives.

Humanities – Reflection

In this assessment, I think my score was pretty good, I was satisfied with what I got, although I think I can still get better scores. During the revision, I did some extra exercise and read some notes and this was one of the most effective revision way I have found. But during revision time, I was eating junk food which was distracting me and I think that made me didn’t focus so I should not eat during revision time. Next, I think I should have some resting time since it is always a good idea to rest a bit during revision to relieve stress. Next time, I find that I should listen to music during revision since I am a person which can be distracted really easily and I found listening to songs make me focus more. In conclusion, I think i should be more focused next time.
