Fashion Show

Hi everyone! As you might already know, today we had a fashion show!! During the last few week, instead of art we had a program called AIR. (artist in residence) Each class we worked really hard, so today we get to show them off! But instead of making a regular dress, we had to design clothes using recycled materials which I thought was really cool. My group includes: Sophie, Lauren, Jessica, and Kayla and our theme was monochrome and a black goldfish. For some reason, at last minute we changed our theme into devil instead of goldfish. During the process of making our dress, we had some disagreements but at the end we worked it out. I think our group worked really well.

After we looked at the dress for the final time, we saw something that didn’t look nice so we took of the scales and added the devil’s wing; so that was when we changed the theme into devil. Since our group wanted our model, Kayla to look nice, we stayed in for recess to curl her hair and to put on makeup. When we finished, she looked so nice!!! Once everyone was seated in the shows, it finally started!!! I saw some really good clothing that other groups made. One class even include robots that would walk by them during the show and I thought that was really creative of them. While the fashion show went one, I felt really proud. I really liked our dress and I think we did a good job. I think this experience was worth it, each of us had lots of imagination and we definitely learnt a lot.

Thanks for reading this post and BYE!!! 🙂

CNY Break

Hi! This blog post is about CNY break as you can already tell by the title. Unfortunately, there was a big flu going around; every school including ours have to shut down so we get an extra five more days in our CNY break. Sadly, lots of school events got cancelled including our fashion show. 🙁

During CNY holiday, I didn’t go anywhere I stayed in HK instead. I didn’t do anything special, I went sightseeing around Hong Kong. I learnt more about Hong Kong’s traditions each day, there were lots of bright and colorful chinese new year decorations. Our family had reunions, it was really fun. Most days we stayed at home, it was really boring with most of my friends gone. I really enjoyed hanging out with my family especially my dad which is never really with me and playdates with friends.; but I didn’t enjoy is the boredom, I was really bored most of the time, I just sat there all day. I wanted to try something new, so I made goals for the break of what I want to work on. Sadly I only complete 3 out of 5.

Overall I would say that my CNY break was good. Thx for reading and BYE!!! 🙂

SPLAT

Hi!, Sorry for not posting in a long time; I had been really busy. 🙁 Anyway today I’ll be talking about a show named SPLAT performed by a company called “faust”, It’s based on different poetry made around the world. They use their emotions to express the poem, they also include audience and makes us laugh once in a while. I thought they did a great job since they keep us curious and they make us want more.

After watching them perform, I have a lot of new ideas. I learnt that poetry can be expressed in many different ways, I also thought that this kind of relate to our last PA unit. Which was storytelling in different methods, this performance help me realize that poetry can be a sport for certain people and can change people’s perspective though poetry.

I had a fun time watching them, they had a lot of different themes for the poetry; I would like to see another performance. I hope you enjoy this blog post! Bye!!! 🙂

Camp

Hi everybody! If you haven’t notice, I have not been posting for a while; that is because we went to camp! We’ve been at camp for 3 days 2 nights, October 11th – October 13th. The camp that we went to was called Asia Pacific Adventures ( APA ).

On October 11th, I was super excited to go to camp. As I arrived at school my excitement faded away as I carry my big bag up the stairs and into crowded classroom.

Soon we left the school and arrived at Tai Tam! Once we reach the camp, we got introduced to our facilitators. Everyone got Later on after lunch was kayaking. Since I never kayak before I was nervous but also eager to learn. I was even more shaky when I got into the kayak, when I started to paddle away I felt relieved that people were around me was experiencing the same thing and could help me if I needed it. Afterwards, I realized it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be.

Next activity was raft building with pier jumping. Considering that we had so much fun last year building our raft, I thought this year was going to be as fun. Eventually, our group finished our raft, we split into groups and tested out the raft. I got really excited as I watched the first group paddle away and have so much fun. After our turn, we broke our raft and went pier jumping! At first I was super afraid of jumping into the water, soon I knew I had nothing to worry about because the facilitators were there to help.

On the first night 1-6 was sleeping in the dorms. In each dorm there is 4 bunk beds which equals to 8 beds, so in each dorm it can fit 8 people. I used to think that I was going to sleep more in the dorms than tents, but after the second night I realized I was wrong. Even though I thought I was by the sun in the tents, I sleep straight from lights out to the morning.

What I thought I could do better next time having a more positive attitudes. Since it was super hot and people were talking instead of listening, I got really bored and little bit mad; so I think I should keep positive and enjoy being at camp while I there. Also I think I could improve on concentrating and listening to facilitators instead of looking around, playing with grass, and day dreaming. I used to think that camp was only for fun, now I know we are learning so much stuff useful for our futures.

So that’s it for my camp blog post, I hope you enjoy it, Bye!!! 🙂

International Library Day

Hi guys! This post is going to be about International Library Day. It is where you go to the library and visit booths about countries around the world, It was really fun!

Today we could to dress down as our country as well as visiting  the library. I am Chinese but part Canadian, but since I forgot I didn’t dress up. I really enjoy visiting each station and learning about their cultures. Every time we go to a station, we get a stamp, which I think is more fun than just visiting the booths. We only had 20 minutes, so I would like to have more time to go to the stations. Overall, I had a great time at International Library Day. Bye! 🙂
