Proposal

What is the goal for your assignment?

To create a composition that sounds good with basic melody and rhythm. Perhaps something using concert instruments such as flute, cello and other kinds of instruments to create a short melody.

Why this project?

I have chosen this project because it not only is the most simple method of creating a composition by the fact that I am sort of familiar with those sorts of instruments. I have also chosen this project because with concert instruments there is a variety of different melodies and tones that you can create by using the instruments that are in a concert band.

Outline/Process (Steps) to Achieve Goal.

1. Listen to a couple famous concert pieces
2. Find what is similar between them and create a melody
3. Implement those similarities into the piece
4.Listen and edit it toward my liking

What criteria will you use to self assess this assignment?

The criteria that I will use to self assess this assignment would be on how unique it is compared to other forms of composition and how good it sounds. Also I will rank it on how the instruments diverge from each other.
