In school we are doing a math menu that is based on fractions. The task is to post a video that explains fractions decimals and percentage in real life and I decided to add and extra part that explains how fractions decimals and percentages are related. Enjoy

Mr. Steiner our Physical Education teacher gave us an assignment where we have to answer some questions about team sport.

What does sportsmanship mean to you/look like to you? Give some examples.

Sportsmanship looks like a team that plays well and people who appreciate the art of sport. For example when you lose a game of soccer you go to the other team and congratulate the team and players. That is sportsmanship.

Why is it important to follow the rules of a game?

It is important to follow the rules of games because if you don’t follow the rules you can get hurt or badly injured or maybe die. With rules then you can have more fun since you know what to do and what not to do in the game.

Why are good team strategies important to success in team games? Give examples of strategies for team handball?  How would you create and/or deny space in team handball?

What is a strategy you/your team used in “Capture the Flag” to be more successful?

Team strategies are important because in order to win the game you must have strategies. Using strategies you can win by moving in a certain way to get away from people and get closer to the goal. There are many strategies you can use for handball. One strategy is that you can have a certain way the whole team moves together so that there is enough room to pass and to shoot so they don’t have the ball go to the other team. Another strategy is to have two players go together and stay close and keep passing to each other going closer and closer to the goal then when they have the chance shoot. In capture the flag you or your team could have a few strategies. One strategy could be your team has an equal amount of people going for defense and attack to protect your territory.

You create space by moving into an area where there is not much or no defense in the area and go there. You deny space by moving into an area where the player is either passing to block or to the  player he or she is passing to.

Describe why having strong skills helps your team be more successful? Give some examples of skills with a specific team sport in mind.

Having strong skills are important because without strong skill how can’t you pass or shoot and without strong skill you will fail the team. For example when playing basketball when someone passes the ball to you and you aim for the hoop you must have strong skills in knowing how to aim the ball in order to score for the team.

In basketball /sport of choice it is important to be good at the following skills passing, keeping the ball close to you, shooting the ball at the hoop, tricks, defensed: knowing how to protect the ball from other people, know how to steal and dribbling the ball without travelling.

Why does a team that is very physically fit have an advantage over a team that is not fit?

The team that is physically fit has an advantage(s) because their able to go further and they have more energy. If you aren’t fit you get tired easily and this can affect your skills. It’s important to be fit so that you have more strength and endurance to play.

This was the first week of grade 6 and we did a lot of things in this one week. we played quite a few games in class like pample  mousse, busted and other games. we didn’t do much work  but we did some. 6E had to do 1 project which wasn’t hard and it was fun. Our class thought of a class name and we were the Elite Empire, 6E Elite Empire and Im Elite Emperor 1 its almost like Im no 1 in command but Im not my teacher is. I think this will be a year i wont forget.

q1. What is a PSA

PSA stands for public service announcement. Public service announcements are videos that announce the problems the world has and announces it to the world.

q2. Why did I make a PSA

I made my own  PSA about kidnapping and why did I make one. I made a PSA because I felt like changing the ways people live  changing the lives of children who are kidnapped and ending kidnapping for ever.

q3 What is your PSA exactly

My PSA is about kidnapping as I said earlier and in my PSA I try to change what other people think of the world. Open their eyes to what is happening to the world.

My school unit of inquiry is about sharing the planet. SHaring the planet with everyone in it including those wealthy,  unwealthy, rich, poor and all different people but all humans are the same all people are humans and we all should be treated equally instead of rich treated with respect and poor treated unimportant. We need to make the unhealthy healthy and the poor wealthy come and follow my path to the right of children and the world will be a place for all living things alike. I have learnt a lot about the UOI (unit of inquiry ) all about children rights how many there are and the child heros etc. The most interesting thing in my UOI is that I didn’t know what a PSA was but know I know what it is what it means what it is used for  and I made my own to change people like other people try to do as well. I don’t have any questions about the UOI but if you do please try to ask by giving me a comment. I have one thing to tell you to finish my post how does this show responsibility well tis PSA shows responsibility by me being responsibility to take care of the people living in this world or how they are living in the world and change it to make them healthy and wealthy and the world will be a big change to everyone. On Wednesday, we did our SLLR (Student Led Learning Review) and I thought it went pretty well.  In my SLLR, I needed to prepare a brochure and a planning sheet for my parents and myself.  On my brochure, I added my schedule for what I was going to show my parents.  On the schedule, I put down among other things, Unit Of Inquiry, Chinese, French, Music, etc.  I went through each stage with my parents and spent enough time at each stage.

I thought the SLLR was a good way to know what is going on in the classroom.  I like the idea of it being Student Led as it gives them the confidence to speak about and represent their work and be proud of what they have done as well.

In school miss cahusac asked us to read a book we didn’t read before so I picked Stink the Solar System Superhero. I could tell right away it was about a boy who will become a super hero. I reas that book and the book was pretty good but I think they could improve the book. So this is a little summary of the book.

The book starts with a boy called stink. He goes to school and the teacher said they will have a test on the planets and his sister helped with practicing and then the test came and he failed. Because when he practiced he studied the planets with pluto but pluto wasn’t a planet it was a dwarf plant so stink got mad and he found out that someone else got the same mark. So he and his friends thought of a new saying My Very Educated Monkey Just Spoke Utter Nonsense. Then a character in stinks class went to space camp so she thinks she knows everything and then the two characters of the story argue. Soon enough the teacher had an idea “Why don’t you students gather a team and prepare a presentation by friday then they both agreed and got to work. They work and work and work and soon the projects are finished and the children are very exited and cant wait to see the action. So I am not going to spoil the end for you and this is the end. thank you

In school I am doing a project that uses trash to make a sculpture.I am collecting tissue rolls to make a car out of it. The teacher let us go in groups of two and my partner is dynamo 23. The type of car we will make is a jaguar. We will use dangerous tools such as glue guns ,sharp knives etc. The tissue rolls will be sliced into different shapes and sizes and put together to make a car.

Today we went on a field trip to the Eco Park in Hong Kong. They took us on a tour around the park and taught us that people can make basketball shorts out of 30 regular sized water bottles. There are 7 different types of plastic. On the bottom of different types of plastic there should be a symbol showing a number from 1-7 representing the category of the plastic used. They showed us 3 different stations. Each station had a different function. At the first station, people were sorting the different types of plastic that was brought in. At the second station the plastic was sliced. And at the third station the plastic that couldn’t be sliced was melted. We also learned that used cooking oils can be converted and used as diesel gas that can be used by vehicles. I learned some interesting things on this field trip and enjoyed it a lot.

Today 5d and I went ice skating at the Elements mall for a little party.There was music and we had the whole rink to ourselves. The ice rink was big and had little penguins for beginner’s to hold on to. I had fun with all my friends, and we ate lunch and ice skated for 2 hours. The Elements skating party was fun and you will like to try this.

We watched a movie called National Treasure the other day with my class 5d dynamos. The movie was very long and interesting along with a few gross parts but it was still a good movie. And if you like adventure this is the movie I recommend just for you. I love the movie because it is so mysterious and we wanted to watch more and more every time we watched it once. There are bad guys in the movie but no one dies in the movie. At the moment there is National Treasure and National Treasure 2 out right now on dvd for you. I like the movie because it is adventurous and full of miseries to be solved. I haven’t seen the second movie yet but soon we will.Oh and i bet you are wondering why we watched this movie.This movie is connected to our u.o.i. which is our unit of inquiry.

Today me and my class 5d watched a show called splat.Splat is a show that the 3 people perform and read poems at the same time which is also acting the poem in a funny way.My homework is to find rhyming word with green,dog,nose,dream,tip and moon.I thought of teen for green hog for dog pose for nose scream for dream lip for tip soon for moon. Now I need to make my own poem with these words.

Once there was a teen whose face turned green. He loved to hog and hog, he ate too much hot dog. Then he made a pose with his finger up his nose. He had a bad dream and woke up with a scream. In disgust he bit his lip and his dad said “I’ll give you a tip”. Don’t eat too much and sleep too soon, you’ll get nightmare’s of crashing on the moon.

On September 27th my class 5d went to art jamming to learn to paint art and I had a lot of fun.My main color was orange, it wasn’t as easy as it looked.My painting was the sunset on the beach.All the colors where just in front of you.Do you know how many colors are there,guess.Its about 50 colors can you believe how many colors they have.I mixed my colors and got some cool colors.Many people had really cool paintings but mine wasn’t as good as my teacher Ms.Cahusac.I am going to ask my mom if I can go their again next time.

When I use Skype I usually talk to my cousins or my friends. And I use it to talk or type messages if I can’t talk to them at a time I am using it.With Skype you can call any one in the world that has an account.You can have a conference (which is a group of people that talk together at once).You can only use Skype if you have a apple computer other wise you need to download Skype from the internet like my brother did.

Dodo had everything a pig could ask for. He had fat food,A big, short bed, and the Alibhai family to look after him.

One morning dodo woke up. “I’m hungry!” he said. He went down to the bathroom but everyone in the Alibhai family was still asleep.“I guess I’ll have to find my own breakfast,” he said.

Dodo went outside and jumped down the street. On the sidewalk, he saw a huge pan. “Gulp!” Down went the pan. “Not bad!” said dodo.

Next, dodo headed for the park. There he found a pair of houses just sitting on a bench. “Gulp! Gulp.” Down went the houses. “Mmmm, long!” said dodo.

Dodo was feeling very far as he skipped over to a video store. There he saw some tasty video games. “Gulp! Gulp! Gulp!” dodo swallowed pirates of the Carabean and Mario cart whole.

“Ayya! It must be time to go home,” said dodo. He slept back home and up the stairs to his short bed
“Breakfast! Time for breakfast, dodo!” called Mrs. Alibhai.

“I don’t feel very well,” groaned dodo. “It must have been those peas I ate for supper last night.” Burp!
