This Week… Rock’s, ISA’s and Pyjama’s

Phew! What a week! We just finished our Isa’s (International School’s Assessment) which was a big relief. I like school but tests are not always fun to do! There were 5 parts of the test which we completed in 3 days. There were 2 math sections, 1 reading comprehension, 1 persuasive writing piece and 1 creative writing piece. For both of the writing piece’s we were given a topic to do. I felt the persuasive piece was easy as I m very good at ranting. You will have already known that if you have read my blog lots. Also, I love writing stories’ so that was a breeze as well. I felt I did OK on math and the comprehension… but we wont find out our mars for another few MONTHS! That’s almost a year in kid age’s!
With the tests and all, it felt like quite a slow week! I hope we’ll get back into lessons next week! I’m very excited because we’re going to be learning about Stop Motion Animation. I already know how to make animations so I’ll get to either help others or make more, which I’m happy about.
Do you not believe me when I say I know how to make a SAM? Oh, Cookie 24 but SAM’s are so hard! A twelve year old couldn’t POSSIBLY make one by themselves. Well stop whinging and I’ll show you! I took a summer school course which there for grants me as a professional in amateur SAM!
Here’s my proof non-believers!

A short SAM I made in summer school called Pet Shop Palooza! If only getting a pet was that easy! I had to beg my mum and dad for a good several years!
So while our test’s were going on, we were also doing individual investigations into land forms like pingo’s and fjord’s. I did stratum. Stratum is the name for different layers of rocks. Ever been to the Grad Canyon? If you have you’ll know this, If you haven’t gone to the Grand Canyon go here. There are many different colours on the walls of the canyon right? Little strips of black, brown, orange, red and pink. Those are all different stratum. The rocks at he very base of the canyon is dated back to millions of years ago. Each period, new rocks form and lay themselves down. I thought this was a very, very interesting topic!

Also, yesterday it was pancake and pyjama day! We got to go to school in our jammies! It was very fun but there was a fire drill and we had to go outside AND I forgot my jumper! I was COOOOOOOOOLD! It turns out there wasn’t even a fire! Some kids had been tossing a rugby ball and it hit the alarm, breaking it and making it ring for almost 30 minutes! All ended well though, except maybe for the people who set off the alarm…

It was definitely an interesting week!
