On May 9th, CDNIS left Hong Kong and boarded a plane flying to Bangkok. After flighting to Bangkok, we to another plane directly to Chang Rai where we drove all the way to Chang Mai. Chang Mai is a town of respect due to all the wonders of it’s people, it’s environment and it’s tranquillity. The reason why I think this way is because I find that Chang Rai is unlike no other town. It has it’s way in culture and it maintains that way.

Anyway, in our trip we stayed at a great resort where we stayed most of the day. That’s what got me a bit upset. I was hoping to entering the town of Chang Rai to discover all of it’s wonders but it was still very fun and it was an experience I would love to do again. Moreover, it was a safe, fun and rememberable week where we discovered all of Thailand.

Recently I’ve been studying the works of the United Nations where I have discovered what it is and what they do, what they fight for and all their history. If you don’t know or aren’t sure of what the U.N is all about thats ok. I will explain it. It is an organization with over 192 representative from 192 different countries (1 seat per country) that have all agreed that the main goal or the common goal is peace and stability all over the world. They find new things to fight for/against and try to end it by using an organization called Unicef. Unicef help with poor children and get medication problems. Please go check their website and donate some money. It would mean a lot to Unicef, to the kids and to me.

What I care most about is, what they fight for/against. This was very interesting when I first heard it and the reason why it’s so engaging is because they have 8 steps. All of these steps are not specifically for individuals in one country. As you can see, the 8 steps in making the world a better place are

Out of these 8, I think that education is the most important because that will get you out of poverty the fastest way and it would also help your future family too. It is also a great way to help others in need and not just your self. With food and water for example, you can’t really spread it out unlike money our education. I also think that with no school, your life will end up with no value due to just sitting their hungry and unintelligent. It would help more generations and help yourself as well. Although I think this is the best one out of the 8, I think that they are all still important and have as much of an impact as education.

If you go see the site of U.N about education, you can see they have goals for 2015 like getting a secondary school for the children. Please post your opinions and please donate to Unicef

1) Do you agree with the jury’s verdict? Why or Why not? Include at least 5 facts from the evidence that was presented during the trial?

2) What was your job? Explain how you fulfilled your responsibilities?

I was the person who attacks their evidence by asking question of their data and attacking their evidence. That job is called the cross examiner.

3) If you could do a different job during the court case, which would you have volunteered for and why?

I would stay where I am because this job fits me well. I can improvise well and fast meaning that I can attack their information better.

4) Explain one or more things you learned about KMT during the investigations?

I learned how important it is to write all the information down on your lab. For example the weather is important.

5) Explain how you improved as a scientist during the KMT investigations and the trial?

Like I said, it is important to write everything down on your lab.

1) I think I fall into a 2 because I practiced for this test a lot and I worked hard for this but I did have some problems in answering some questions. I felt confident with all the questions I answered.

2) The most challenging part was putting the fractions, decimals and percentages into a number line because I was not very sure of how to use a number line but know I am confident in that. A part that was easy was converting percentages into decimals.

3) Like I said, I worked hard on the test and I am happy with the mark I got. So my effort was high.

4) I like activities with items to interact with because that helps me understand better so the best part was the M&M activities.

This Post will be a lit bit different from the others. This will be asking questions and answering them.

1) What did you like about the novel?

The part I loved the most was the first few pages which I know is not common but the suspense used in the novel was used very well and that forced me to keep reading the book.

2) How did you apply what you learned from the novel to your project?

First I like to point out that it on Youtube so go check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5CSudur5QA and subscribe. The video will also be at the bottom of the vlog. It would mean a lot. Back to the topic. I used them as refugees. I said how society is treating the poor very bad. The topic is Pinochet and his coup of Chile. If you were reading my blog from the very start you would know I am from Chile.

3) For the project, what skills did you learn or apply in a different way than you had before?

I applied simple editing like transitions etc. It was easy but Anson & I re did our presentation 4 times which wasted lots of time.

4) What did you dislike about this presentation?

I dislike that this was not an oral presentation or else I think I would get a better grade than what it is now. Last time I got an 80% on my oral presentation which in this school is great!

5) What was your contribution?

I helped mostly on the visuals of the presentation and half the information. Anson helped on the script and the other half of the presentation.

On February the 5th, I presented a project called, Author’s Choice. We had to write a short story and choose literacy devises like setting, character or sensory imagery. I choose to use setting and sensory imagery but more specifically, pathetic fallacy. It is when the environment fits well with the basic plot line for example, before two lovers meet, one lover might pass a lovely garden. For sensory imagery I basically described things using my five senesces. I did all except taste. Here is an example I used in my story of olfactory imagery:

Marco keep commanding me excitedly into the living room were the smell of cigar over took the weak sense of lemon after the adults finished smoking.

This is one the sensory imagery I used.

In this presentation I learned how to use Prezi better and I learned how to control stage fright which I am very proud of because I find it is an important skill.

Go check out Prezi! Its free and excellent. Here is what Prezi looks like! To go the Prezi, go to Prezi.com

http://prezi.com/jm5sl4mixkj8/game-on/?kw=view-jm5sl4mixkj8&rc=ref-29911799

This is for my presentation.

If I could do this presentation again, I would use more visual aids to make the understanding better and faster. I could use more color or even point out more.

Please leave feedback on my blog anytime and be sure to share it with others. I will be writing better and more from now on so please give feedback. Thank and happy chinese new year. Gong Hee Fot Choy

Habits can easily hurt you in many ways like in a social way, health related way, working, and in a moral way. This can be dealt with easier as a kid because you have not developed your brain yet and you are also around more people as a kid.

One of my bad habits that I always do is that I don’t accept things people tell me and I just deny it all the time. The reason I think this is a bad habit is because so people might think of me differently in a bad way like that I am a sore loser. This also makes me not worry on problems that I should be worried of. I can change this habit by just accepting what happens and work on it as hard as I can. I think if I change this, I can become a better student, family member and overall a person. I can work on what others find troubling of me and work on it well. I really want to work on this because as an adult, it is hard to work on this but as a kid you are more social so this would be easier and it would do me good for my future life. I know I can work on this and have a positive outcome fast and effectively without causing other problems due to focusing too much on this habit. Fixing this habit will also make new habits to fix and it will become easier and easier each time.
