Welcome Back!
Happy New Year! On the post called, “How I Celebrated the New Year”, it explains what I did in the New Year’s Eve. Please Read!
Over the holiday, I stayed in Hong Kong and had lots of fun. On the 2nd, my family went out to hike on Violet Hill. My mother looked really funny walking up the first part. She looked really serious and had a funny expression on her face. There were more stairs than path and it was really tiring climbing up the hill. The view near the top was amazing and we could see flowers, buildings and other Hong Kong sites from almost bird eye view! After we reached the top and was walking down the steps, the path was really close to the edge and you could see lots of spiky looking trees and other big plants. It was really freaky.
Anyway, today was the first day of school in 2012! One of my resolutions are to try harder and to never give up. I want to try hard in everything I do so that I can improve on things such as skill, grades, attitude and many more. Another of my resolutions are to practice my clarinet so that I can play more complicated notes and songs.
Today, our class has joined a Global Hello Classroom Project called, The Global Hello Project. The site will help us learn about other students and classes from different schools all over the world such as the USA, New Zealand, South Africa, Japan, Argentina, Canada, Australia, Denmark and Russia. I have added a page called Global Hello Project to share my experience in CDNIS and how it feels to live in Hong Kong.

Where did you go over the holiday? Are you part of the Global Hello Project? What are some of your 2012 resolutions?
How I Celebrated The New Year
Yesterday, my family was invited to Stanley to celebrate New Year with 3 or 4 different families. We first went to Pickled Pelican then to a different restaurant. When we arrived, the other girls were chatting and drinking drinks. Sarah and I felt uneasy about joining them so instead of joining them, my sister and I went outside to the pavement and rode on my sister’s scooter whilst I was watching. We took turns on the wooden pavement and got scolded by a security guard. Oops…:) The families then headed for the other restaurant to eat dinner at about 8:00. Lauren and Katy’s parents and grandparent organized the seating order. On the tables were party bags and party hats. In those bags were champagne bottle like streamer poppers, masks or hats or hair ornaments, clapper things, hooters, a menu to order from and confetti. The children all ordered chicken from the Kid’s Menu.
I got to know the other girls and actually they were pretty nice. They all were older than me by 1 or 2 years.
After talking and getting to know each other, we went outside to play hide and seek and sardines 1 and sardines x2. Maddie and I paired up as a team and hid together. Maddie and I were always found 2nd last. Marcus, Maddie’s brother, was really good at hiding and most of the time, we had to give up. We played this for a few hours. My sister, did not join in. Instead, she scooted around the area we were hiding in with her scooter and was keeping track of where everybody was.
We headed back to the restaurant and started eating our first course which was…(drumroll please) Soup! Yippee
At first I did not want to eat it but then I found delicious garlic bread. Later on, I found that the soup was really good! Our second course was chicken and to our surprise, it was really small! The chicken was served with french fries, gravy, peas and a baby carrot. The gravy with the chicken was really good but the one thing that was even better was the french fries. We were served our desert. It was not really our desert it was the adult’s desert. I never got my actually desert in the end…:( I had to sit there waiting for my desert and watching the others enjoy their deserts.
We left the restaurant to play sardines 1 and sardine x2. Sardines x2 is just like Sardines except that you are in pairs and that two people hid instead of 1 person hiding. We played that a few times then went back again to the restaurant. We packed up and scavenged thew the box that was filled to the top with party bags. Sarah and I got there last because we were scootering and did not see them. We got lucky and found 3 net hair ornaments in different colors. Orange, white and dirty yellow. We traded the orange one to Lauren for a very fancy mask and traded that mask to Katy for a very fancy mask that was in a different color.
Overall, the new year was really fun and I can’t wait for the next new year! Have fun in 2012!

Today’s Game
Today was the finals of the basketball game. We were against the 6Elements and they had good players. The game was really tough because everybody wanted to win the finals and get the prize which I think is 1 Day of free DDD (dress down day) (No Uniform
) and their shifts were carefully thought out. We won by many points. Lets go Cookies!
My Thinking of The Summative Task
Today, we got into groups and we brainstormed about what the best way was to show our understanding of the central idea in the How We Organize Ourselves summative task. The best way I might best show my understanding of the central idea is to create an Keynote, write an report, create a model and create a poster to explain your understanding of the unit.
