I do not agree with the jury’s final verdict. I feel that the DEFENSE team was able to prove 7 out of 8 points of the Kinetic Molecular Theory, whilst the PROSECUTION team was only able to prove 0ne point, which was the point about not being able to see particles without an STM, therefore I felt that the team able to prove the most points (DEFENSE) should have won. The defense team was able to successfully prove and answer the questions that were asked whilst also trying to prove KMT. For example, when Jonathon presented his witness, he answered very effectively with purpose for all the questions asked. I was the expert witness for Witness #2 and I feel that Tara, Kyra and I did a good job representing our team for that particular experiment. If I could do a different job during the court case, I would probably be a expert witness and a photographer. I want to do this because I really enjoy taking photos and I loved the experience of standing up to defend my case. I learned more about KMT and how you can see and connect to it in the real world. I think that this was really cool because I was able to see things in a different perspective that I’ve never seen before. But with this whole experience, I was able to sort my data and my information properly in case of suboena and I was able to prepare myself mentally for any random questions asked by the opposite team. I felt under pressure because I didn’t want to let my team down because I didn’t know my witness well enough.

On the learning graph, from 5 being really stressed to 1 falling asleep in class, I think right now I fall in the 3 catergory because in the beginning, I was really like on 5 because I had never been good with the operations with fractions or decimals ever so I was a bit stressed about this unit. I think that the split class really helped because I was able to work with people a bit higher or at my level and then, being less stressed about being the worst, I was able to quickly re-learn the things about fractions and decimals and the relationships between them. I think that the easiest part of this unit was after I got the hang of something and was able to do it over and over again. On the other hand, I think that the hardest thing for me was siting there at the beginning of the first class on fractions and decimals, staring at my pre-assessment completely in panic mode. At home, to speed up my learning pace, I was practising on books at home, using math sites if I was stuck and asked for help. I liked many of the activities that we did in class and I hope we could do more creative activities because I have found that I learn or remember something better if on that day, something really unique of different happened.

Hello Again,

This post is going to be about a habit that I have and how it is affecting me as a person. The habit I am going to talk (write) about is that I can be really really forgetful sometimes. I find that I forget the mini- things, which are not really school related. I can remember the due dates and homework things but when it comes to unrelated to my life things or if I have had a long busy-action filled day….. I JUST CAN’T REMEMBER!!!

I think that this habit started when those action filled days got more frequent. I also tended to forget more at the beginning of the school year, hence the fact that summer vacation had ended and the school year had started once again.

Right at this moment, I am trying to change this. Every day, straight after I close the door to my home behind me, I rush to my calendar and whip out my agenda. Then I start my homework really fast. (I do this because I live far away from the school and it takes about an hour to come and go to school from home.) Then, after I finished all the homework due tomorrow and finish at least half of the homework that is due the day after tomorrow, I can do what ever I would like to do (usually this rarely happens). I think that if I didn’t start this method, my grades would slip and I would tend to forget more often.

Before doing this, I would forget way more often than I do now. For some reason, I would only remember at the second of the teacher or supervisor asked for the homework, then I would completely freak out. I was constantly bombarded with explanations, excuses and panic attacks. I think that the method I am using now is helping me, and my grades, a lot and I hope to make this a new good habit of mine.

I hope you also can change your bad habits into new good ones.

Hello!

So recently we had a unit in math that had something to do with patterns in algebra, hence the title:), and we worked on different kinds of patterns, creating them, solving them and figuring out some of the rules that they had. Something I really liked about this unit was that we were able to combine mini-algebra with patterns and do something was was new and was not new. I disliked the fact that I didn’t really understand how to find patterns in most of the classes. It was only when I took the time to read the chapter on patterns in the textbook , I could understand the ways to solve my problem. This helped me understand better and on the test, it was much more easier to find the rule and to solve the patterns. Throughout this unit, I have learned not only how to solve, create or figure out patterns but I have also learned that if I do not understand something, I should ask or read the textbook to help me. After this unit, I do not have any questions that I would like to ask. I think that the study of patterns is important and relates to our life because we could use patterns to figure out some problems in life there were also some life-related problems in the textbook.

So recently in Science, we started on our Summative. Our Summative was to create and “discover” a bird and then share the things (adaptations) about your bird. I think that in the end I did well. So during this Summative, I feel that the best thing that was related to my bird was the behavioral adaptation. On the other hand, I feel that I didn’t do really well on the other adaptation of my bird. I feel that during this summative I have managed to use my time efficiently during Science Class and at home. I had spilt the assignment into two parts, I would work on the bird a bit every science class and then work on my adaptations. At home, I only worked on the adaptations, but on the night before the due date, I took my bird home and worked on it a bit more. A thing that I really regret was that on the last day, I rushed through my presentation paper. If I had to start over, I would change the way I managed my time, so that I would have to rush through my presentation.

I would also choose an appropriate typeface for my problem because the typeface that I used, “Skia”, didn’t really fit in. I should choose an type-face that is more dark and more urgent. I think that the best design features of my poster is the symbols that I used. The symbols in my PSA were the cupped hands and an broken friendship bracelet. I really think that it helped get the message across more easily and helped people understand the purpose of my PSA. I also think that the position of these symbols had an impact on the audience. Even though I have had some mistakes about my poster, I think that my poster should be considered for publication by the USSC. I think this because it is about an problem that happens all the time, without realizing it. I want this poster and problem to be heard so that people will know how to prevent this problem and stop hurting others, like it did to me. I want to make CDNIS a better place for students.

In Humanities, we (I) am studying about Shi Hunag Di. I am looking into at Health and Social Education as the Area of Interaction beacause we are looking into how Shi Huang Di modernized, (changed things), China. This affected the education level and the health of the people in China. Whilst the building (or connecting) of the Great Wall(s) of China, 70% of the people passed away because of the conditions of the living and the harsh conditions. This affected the amount of people living in China. Shi Huang Di unified the writing system, which affects us now, since we are learning Mandarin.

The two AOI aspects “Human Ingenuity” and “Environment” can come into conflict sometimes. Human Ingenuity is mostly made up of man-made buildings and inventions whilst Environment is mostly made up resources, like trees, and animals. For example, during the movie “The Lorax”, the Once-ler comes to this beautiful, lively place to make Thneeds, an item that was invented by the Once-ler. This “Thneed” was made by Truffla Fur which came from the Truffla Trees, which took a long time to grow. It was an must-have for the people there. As the business becomes more successful, the more they cut the trees, creating new machines to help them cut trees faster. They built new factories which gave out pollution and garbage which harmed the animals who lived there. The Lorax, who speaks for the Truffla Trees, tries to stop the Once-ler, telling him how his friends ( the animals) had to go. The pollution harmed the air which the birds flew in and had to leave because it was hard to sing. The people dropped garbage into the river which clogged up the fish’s gills and the Truffla Trees gave Truffla fruit which the bears ate but then there wan’t enough to go around so they had to leave. Another example is, the man-made beach. This beach is a good idea through Human Ingenuity because it is an good opportunity for the reputation of the government and Hong Kong, but on the other hand, the man-made beach is a bad idea through the aspect Environment. The environmentalists fear that the beach would wipe out more than 200 marine and bird species who live on the shore. I think that Environment is the most important because if they build the beach and they do wipe out those animals, this would be really bad for the food chain and the other species living in other parts of Hong Kong.
