Recently, the cookie jar (whole Grade 6) started a new unit, How the World Works. The central Idea is ”An inquiry into the natural world and its laws; the interaction between the natural world (physical and biological) and human societies; how humans use their understanding of scientific principles; the impact of scientific and technological advances on society and on the environment.”
The whole cookie jar investigated into a landform this week because it related to our unit. We got to pick a landform from a long piece of chart paper which was filled of the recent discussion; Landforms. The list had caves, dunes, valleys, peninsula, volcano, marshes, delta, reefs, waterfall, fjord, butte, hill, mountain, lakes, glaciers and many more but I picked Caves. Caves mean: a large underground chamber. So I am the Caves Expert!
I presented to a group which included glaciers, marshes and peninsula.
Marshes: Mark
Peninsula: Nicola
Glaciers: Olivier
My presentation is coming on my blog soon… (Thursday is latest)
