On the third day of Yellowstone we ate breakfast at the Canyon Village cafeteria. It was a tasty meal. We had scrambled egg, toast, and cereal. I liked it a lot! After breakast we headed to the Waterall Of Yellowstone and The Yellowstone River. The waterfall was a super cool site. Gallons of water were tumbling down from the top to the river. We first viewed the waterfall from the brink of the upper falls. That basically means we viewed it from a trail that is on the top of the waterfall, so we get to see the water tumbling into river from the top. That was the coolest view in Yellowstone to me. We went to another view point far far away so we can see the waterfall and the river. The river flows into a canyon and it was named the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. I agree with the name, this canyon was huge, very huge!
There is also another reason we came here and it is because we have to walk another trail! Great! Another trail and this trail got us everyone tired and annoyed. We walked a trail that was said to be 2 km only, but to me it is like more than 2 km! It also took so long because we keep splitting up into 2 groups and the front group always have to wait for the other group. Finally we reached the end, but because this trail is not a loop, so we had to walk back. We felt that walking one way was tiring enough, so some of us walked back while others waited by the road. We guessed that because we walked for so long, the others would have to take an hour to come back. But surprisingly, they only took half an hour! Good for them!
After a tiring hike you would like a rest, won’t you? So we had lunch! We went to a place called Tower Fall. We had lunch there! I ate a very tasty hot dog and a bag of chips that was brought from the general stores at Tower Fall, we had hotdogs and the chips, we ate a 2 scoop ice-cream, which was actually 4 scoops and I couldn’t finish it!
Why is this place called Tower Fall? Where is the tower? Where is the fall? Tower Fall is an interesting place. Tower Fall is a waterfall and the cliff is a fallen tower, which the river flows through it and falls down into a pool.
After lunch was about 4o’clock, an it is time for horse-wagon riding! This is not just a loop and coming back, we are riding to a old west cookout, where we spend dinner for that night. Some of us: Gary and Karen rode horses. While the others will go on the horse-wagon. We were supposed to board the wagon at 4:45! We saw a cowboy gathering everyone to a branch directly under the sun. We thought he is going to sort us into the wagons we were supposed to go into and mine’s was 4. But guess what he did, he started to tell stories, about how he graduated from university and how he got interested into being a cowboy. And it was very hot under the boiling sun. The others and I were to exhausted so we sat under the shade and didn’t listen. It was a relief that we sat out because the cowboy talked for an hour. We thought that is not the original plan and the horses were late and that’s why he may had told stories.
We finally went on the wagons around 5:30! We were pulled by horses called Chip and Charlie. We went for a while and arrived to the cookout. The dinner was great, with beef and corn. The cowboy who told stories sang songs.
After the dinner we rode back and I got to sit at the front and control the horses for a while. After the trip we rode to a place called mammoth hot springs. Everyone was joking about the quality of the sleeping places are going lower because we first lived at a hotel, then a dorm, then a cabin without toilets! That was the special part of this place we spend for the night. Well, we settled things down and my brother Justin and I shared a dorm with Uncle Carlo and Aunt Amy.
