The Six Transdisciplinary Themes for our UNIT!

Hi, I am back again!

In this year we learn about six different units, based on every different transdiscplinary theme. A Transdisciplinary Theme is a big subject that we can decide our units on. For example, the Who We Are unit contains different subjects we can study, we used this theme for conflicts this year and our body system last year. The first unit was based on the transdiscplianary theme Who We Are, which we learned about conflicts, how to prevent them, how to solve them, our summative task, or the task to test your understanding of the unit, is to make a skit and solve two other skits that are not your group ones. The second unit was about the How We Express Ourselves unit, which we learn about the elements and principles of the unit, next was the third unit, the How We Organize Ourselves unit, we investigated into the operations, organizations and the interaction between the market and the community. The fourth unit is a unit we recently studied. It is the How the World Works unit. We studied into the Earth’s natural features/Earth’s landforms and how they affect life on Earth. For the Where We Are In Place And Time (WWPT), it is our unit for the exhibition. We have to choose a subject that is related to this Theme and we must do a presentation. The Exhibition is the presentation. We grade 6 put our presentations in the LLAC (Leo Lee Arts Center) and anyone can come and look at it. I had been an audience before but this year I am doing it, I am very nervous and excited about it!

Now we are doing an unit on the fifth one, Sharing The Planet. We are only starting on it, this unit Sharing The Planet is about power. Well, I am not sure what it will be about, but I know it will be fun and challenging. We will learn about power. Who has power? What is power? I will be able to answer these questions after this unit. But I know, we will learn about everything that is related to power!
