Art Jamalama

Last Monday, my class went to Art Jamalama. Art Jamalama is a company where you can paint anything. We were going there because we went to paint some self portraits. We went to the Art Jamalama in Tsim Sha Tsui. When we arrived there, we had to take off our shoes and our socks. They said we have to do that because they do not want paint on the socks and on the shoes.

When we went in, a lady called Betty showed us where the paint is, how we get the paint and how we paint our portraits. After that, we started painting. I got yellow for the background, it is better if you use a sponge and paint the background. I got a sponge and paint the background. We painted the background first because Betty said it is better if you paint something smaller on top of something bigger. After I colored the background, I colored the face with a brush. The face looked really funny with nothing on it. Second, I colored the hair of the head. Third, I colored the eyes of the face. I had to color the white first, then the black on top. Next, I colored the mouth near the bottom of the face. After that, I use some kind of tool to draw the nose. After the nose, I used a brush and colored the hair. I used the same tool I used for the nose for drawing the details for the ears. When I finished drawing the whole face, I drew the neck, but it turned our not too good. Then, I drew a book because I decided the portrait will show that I was reading. After I painted the shape of the book blue, I drew the painted the details of the book. After I finished drawing the book, I was finished. I brought the paint brushes and everything, except the portrait to the sink and dropped it there. We ate our lunch when we were waiting for other people. Soon, we were on the bus.

Friday, November 5, 2010, there was a party to look at our portraits from 3:00-5:00. I did not went to the party because I did not have time, but I took a peek on them. Before I went on the bus, I went to the party and looked at all the pictures. They were all very nice and beautiful. At last, I went back to my bus.
