My October Break

by Justin on October 25, 2010

Last week, we had an October Break. I went to Beijing for the holiday. We took a plane to Beijing on October 16, 9:00. It was a 3 hour trip. When we arrived at Beijing, we had to take a train to the other part of the airport. After we took our luggage, we met the driver my dad & my mom’s classmate found. The driver took us to the hotel we are going to live in, Regent. It had a water fountain, not the ones you drink. When my dad and my mom was checking in, the person on the counter gave us a normal room. But it was too small for my brother, my mom, my dad and I to stay in it, so my dad wanted to order a bigger room. But there were no bigger room just then, so we went to the smaller room first. The staff will try to find a bigger room. When we arrived at the smaller room, we rested for a while.

After we rested,we went to find something to eat. It was very cold! We walked around and we could not find any restaurant to eat in, so we went back to the hotel. After that, we took the train to another station and we went shopping. While we were walking, we also took some pictures. We went in a shopping mall and bought something. After that, we ate dinner with my mom and my dad’s classmate, the one which I told you just now, and his wife and child. We ate dinner and we had a happy time. We went back to the hotel.

Next day, we went to the where the olympic took place in 2008, the stadium. It is shaped like a bird’s nest, and it had 3 stories. It also had a football field. We looked at every story except the second one because it was closed. The third story was very scary. Next, we went to the swimming place. It is shaped like a cube. We also visited the pool. It had jumping boards and it had flags. It was very enormous. We went back to the hotel later and we ate dinner there.

The third day, we went to a place that I forgot what the name is. It had flowers and a cable car. We took the cable car to the top of the hill. We went there to see red leaves. But there were very little leaves, so we went back down and it was raining! I loved it very much. After we were on the bottom of the hill, we went back to the hotel.

The last day, we went to the palace. We did not have time to visit the whole palace, so we went through the middle. We visited a lot of famous buildings. I wish I had more time to visit the palace so I can visit the whole palace. I really like the palace; all buildings are made of wood. At last, we took the plane back to Hong Kong.

DJ 15,

Wow, Beijing sounds pretty cool. I have never been there, but I’ve always wanted to go. I had a friend who was also there and she told me that it was very cold! Now HK feels cold too, though; winter is coming.

I really enjoyed reading your post. Your writing style is very developed and your skills are demonstrated in the way you express your ideas. I am impressed!

Thanks for sharing the story of your holiday!

Yes! Beijing is really cool. But be careful, there are a lot of people in the palace!
