Our New Unit of Inquiry-How The World Works

by Justin on October 7, 2010

In our new unit, we are learning about materials and matter. Wood, glass, brick are materials. Metal, fabric, silk are also materials. Matter can be soft, hard , liquid or solid. Matter can be never created or destroyed. These are the things I know about materials and matter.

In our new unit, there are also things I do not know. One of them is how did matter form? I also do not know where did materials come from? Why is there materials and matter? These are some things I do not know about materials of matter.

So far this unit is very fun because I think matter and materials are interesting. I think it is also interesting because we get to do experiments. I hope I will have a good time and learn a lot in this unit.

interesting. Have you checked out what ‘graphene’ is? it is the ‘matter’ discovered by the winner of Nobel physics prize.

Yes! Graphene means a band of carbon that forms hexagons. It is in a sheet form one atom thick.
