Three Connections From ‘The Breadwinner’

I’m back! This post won’t be about what’s happening in the book we’re reading. I will be talking about three connections between the book and the world.

One connection is actually related to your parents and yourself. The connection is when you come home late (after your parents say to come home) they will get worried about you and think something bad has happened to you. Parvanna did this once to her mom and the mom got all scared first and then relieved when she came home.

My second connection is about getting happy when you do something good. The connection is that when you live in a poor family, you need to sell stuff to get money. In this case Parvanna lives in a poor family so when they sell lots of stuff they get very exited. So Parvanna went to work and sold her stuff for a lot of money.

The last connection might be a bit surprising for a poor family. When Parvanna came home from work she had a lot of money. Her mother was curious so she asked Parvanna what she did to get the money. Parvanna said she got the money from selling bones. Her mom got really mad and said she wasn’t allowed to do it anymore. This connects because the mother doesn’t want her child going through bones, even if it makes a lot of money.
