Book Club Reflection #4

Introduction: The reason I am writing all of this is because we are doing literacy circles, an kind of activity which you do normally when reading any kind of book. Describe in detail 3 different connections you have made to either other books, the world or yourself:

Myself — In the book where it says, “It was Parvana’s turn to be stunned. Nooria taking her side? Such a thing has never happened before.” It happened to me once when my brother was actually helping me talk back to my mother. It was actually really shocking since normally, my brother would actually scold me. Same for Parvana, she also got shocked since Nooria was always mean to her for either not getting enough food and drinks back or when she does something wrong or carelessly.

World — In the book where it says, “We can’t leave Kabul!” and “I’m not sending Nooria off to Mazar all by herself, and since you are a child, you will come with us.” and “I’m not going!” ….”You will do as your told.” All these sentences are to the world because there are many.. many kids around the world that might not always want to do what they are told to do by their parents, but they normally end up doing it anyways (including me.) However, in Parvana’s situation, she was lucky enough to stay at Kabul
