There is one more week until swimming in Bangkok. In this few week I will be training ALOT! Every morning and evening, the coach (Mr Simon) or (Simon Joyce) will be requiring us to train hard and get fit before the race in Bangkok . In this week I have also prepared some equipment I can use in Bangkok. Such as new goggles and swim pants.

In this trip I will be going on a plane! Additionally it is my first time going on a plane without any family members. This will be a great experience for me and some of the new members of the swim team. The first day at Bangkok we will be arriving late so we will have dinner and then go to bed. In this trip  I will be sleeping with a grade 7. The lights out time are so early, I am not sure if I can sleep that early, the time is 8:00! Well I guess I have to get enough sleep inorder to swim better tomorrow at the swimming pool.

In this trip we will be receiving 4 T-shirt! Which means are luggage must be very light! WHen we go there, but when we get back to Hong Kong it might be much heavier. This is how one of the T-shirt looks like this:

Pretty cool?. In this trip we will also be eating diary and fruits ALOT. Because these food are very needed to keep us fit and also able to have energy to have a good swim in the competitions. This is the brief things you should know about Seasac. This event is not only fun, but it gives you a lot of experience in culture, outside world and also food.

Today we did an activity .  The goal is to use 20 minutes to build a tallest structure . The marshmallow must be at the top of the structure : spaghetti, a marshmallow, not cooked noodles, some masking tape and a string . In my group there was Waining, Chareese, Kai and me. In this group we have tried three different. The first three was not so successful, but at last we have chose the third one, because  we think it will take less time for us build it and it can be also very tall. We used the string and the spaghetti and some masking tape to support the spaghetti and the string from falling down. At last the structure fell, but we still got the height of 21 cm and got 3 place! In this activity the teachers wants us to learn to work with unexpected people from different classes.

Today at the start of our new unit, we have found a quote, and this quote is to let us comment and get a brief understanding of our new unit. In this task we also need to comment or brainstorm about what this quote means to us and also how it connects to our new unit. The quote was: You are essentially who you create yourself to be and all that occurs in your life is the result of your own making.” What I think the meaning of this quote is, that you are what you are through out the things that happened to you in life and how you deal with it will result as your own making. I think this quote is connected to our central idea, because what our central idea means is that what happened through time and what have we done to this event. So this quote is connected because who you are in time is the result of who you are in future of your own making.

So this new unit could be clearly understood through out this quote, that who we are in place and time  is who we are in the future of our own making.

Yesterday the young americans left Hong Kong to return to America. Through out this three days I have experienced different kinds of dance, songs and things related to movement. In this three days I have also experienced friendship and greater relationship with my friends. In this activity I felt happy because I get to know new people and also I could learn new styles fo dancing and sining. But then at last I felt a bit sad because the young american had to leave and go back to america. We sang the song Witch Doctor  ,Dont stop believing  and also lion king. We also played some games to introduce ourself, in these games we had to tell everyone our names and also we had to sing a song. In this event I have noticed that the young americans are very enthusiastic and also very kind. In this event some people have developed very close relationship and  when the young american went back to america some people cried.

I am now one of the members of the school Math olympiad! The math olympiad is a event held  in a lot of schools around the world. In      the math olympiad people that participate in this event, will be doing a few tests through out the year. My goal this is year will be trying to get a high mark in my test. In the test I will also be getting a T-shirt to represent that we are in the math olympiad team. I will be trying my best in the tests.

Today we have been in the course of the young american workshop! In this workshop we experienced different kinds of dance including hip-hop and disco dancing. In this workshop we also experienced singing too! In singing we have experienced different keys for singing such as: soprano an auto. This workshop wants us to be risk-takers and being confidence. In this workshop we have developed friendship with the staff of the young american, and also with our friends. Though it was just the first day , I think that this is a very enjoyable event and is also a very fun event too. Also we will be performing what we have learnt in the workshop on Wednesday afternoon.

I have heard that there is a very famous Korean song and dance around the world now. If I am not wrong it is called Gangam style, also I think that the the actor or the main guy who was doing the dance and singing the song is called PSY pronounced as (Siy). My relatives told me that PSY has inspired a lot of people around the world to do there own Gangam style dance! In this post I want to let people know that PSY was actually just like us ordinary humans, But then he worked hard and never gave up and he also did not feel embarrassed into doing the dance or singing the humorous song, and that was what made him so successful. And also just to tell you Gangam is actually a place in Korea and it is also a very successful place through out Korea.

One day I was walking along a narrow street and then I saw a piece of paper, when I picked it up I have found out that it is my CHINESE TEST ! Then I wake up in the middle of the night thinking of the bad dream I just had.

Haha, just kidding this was just a heading of my blog post. Today I have been doing my chinese test at school. If you do not know what is a chinese teat, I am gong to tell you! A chinese test is just other normal test you take, but it is just in another language. Easy right? In a chinese test they test you on the things in the chinese text book that you will be studying more through ou t the year. They also test  you on the kinds of writing method that they have taught you through so far. Such as, 懝人( personification), 比喻(Metaphor) and 對比( Contrast). So, next time you take a chinese test and there is something you dont understand, just leave a comment about what you do not know and I will reply .

This is a photo of the lama island ship sinking at around 8:45 pm at night. I think this is a very tragic incident because this ferry was a reward for the worker, because the worked so hard. Some of the workers also brought their family too, such as kids, wife and also some of their mother and fathers.

When the time of the crash the boat tilted 90 degree angle just like the titanic. Some of the children and the workers mother got trapped between the chairs and then drowned to death. In this incident the chairman of the CLP provided 200,000 dollars for every deceased. At the same time the hong kong are sending boats and frogman to look for the survivors or the body of the dead people.

After all this is a very terrible incident that ever happened in the hong kong history.

Do you remember how I mentioned about the UOI book that my group was working on? Well, now I am going to tell you even more of how I feel, think or what is the book related to the unit of inquiry.Differences in values can cause conflict that we choose to deal with in different ways (Central Idea). 

At first when I chose this book I thought it will be interesting by looking at the book cover and the title, but then I found out the the book was not as interesting as I thought it would be! I think the book should add more interesting parts and more excitement in the story. Even though the book was not too good, there are some very creative ideas in the book. Such as letting the reader go into different perspectives in the story.

The reason this book was selected to be one of the books we need to focus on during this unit. It is because this book has a lot of conflict situations in it, and many different ways of how the characters solve the conflict situation. In this book there are also parts where how other characters feel after the conflict was solved, which also connects to our central idea. For example when the problem about the script being changed by a person who was not evan the director! That time there were conflict between people who liked the script and people who thinks that the script should not be changed, and also some people got angry and some was not as angry as others!  After all, this book not so interesting but then there are a lot of creative thinking and also some very good solutions in the conflicts! I think that this book also has the profiles of being creative and knowledgeable.
