Today, my teacher showed us a documentary that has recently been posted on Facebook, Youtube, Twitter etc. It’s about a man named Joseph Kony who has been abducting children in Africa and forcing them to be his slave. Many children in Africa go to sleep scared that they will be abducted or killed in their sleep. A man from America named Jason Russell made a documentary to tell the world about Kony and what he is doing. After a long time of getting people to have campaigns and talks with schools, the government of the USA finally decided to support Kony 2012 and they sent 100 soldiers to Africa to help the army there to arrest Kony. On April 20th, many people across the world are going to put up Kony 2012 posters and banners on the streets to raise awareness. Below is the documentary. Share it with everybody you know to raise awareness.

My Thoughts:
I think that this documentary is very effective in terms of letting the whole world know about Kony 2012, because its viral on the internet and many people saw it. I think Kony 2012 will succeed in arresting Kony because many people know about this charity now and many people are trying to help stop Kony. These are some if my thoughts when hear the three words: action, technology and power.
Action:
Whenever I hear the word action, I think of how Jason Russell took action to stop Kony. he made a promise to his friend in Africa to stop Kony and he took action and started Kony 2012. I also think about how the people that know about Kony 2012 are taking action and doing everything they can to stop Kony.
Technology:
Whenever I hear the word technology, I think of how fast it evolves and how fast everything gets around the world through the internet. For example, this documentary was only released on March 5th, and now over 60 million people have seen this documentary and want to take action. I am one of them.
Power:
When I think of the word power, I think of the campaigns that are going on to stop Kony. Many people think that they have no power and can’t stop Kony, but we actually do. We can share the documentary with our friends and families to raise awareness and that is already a way to stop Kony.
