For the past few weeks, we have been working on an investigation into marketplaces. We were split into groups and my group members are: Tiffany, Charles, Viva, Marcus, Jollicoe and me. We had to go to many different marketplaces and conduct interviews and do observations. Before we did all of that, we had to follow the “Mcleod Inquiry Framework” and define purpose, prior knowledge, develop understanding of issue and create research plan. You can look at my blog post “Math Tutorial” to learn about the Mcleod Inquiry Framework. We did the whole investigation on a GoogleDocs, so everybody can work on it at home. Then, we went to the Aberdeen market, Graham Street market, Pacific Place and Zhao Qing to collect data. I was being a risk taker because I was in a group with a very strong language group meaning most of us could speak Cantonese or Mandarin, but I was one of the people that were conducting interviews. I asked many people questions and sometimes they wont answer, but I will just ask other people. After we finish interviewing people and doing observations, we went back to school and started to collate and sort data. After that, we analyzed data. This time, when we analyzed data, it was different. We had to make a claims and evidence chart, and make claims according to the information we collected and give evidence. It feels really professional when I’m doing these investigations. Anyways, after that, we had to write paragraphs answering the supporting questions using the information we gathered. Then, we do conclusions. Our present findings this time was actually the summative assessment. We had to create a report or any type of movie to explain two marketplaces we visited and compare and contrast them. I made a keynote and did a voiceover. So thats about it! Bye!
