On Wednesday, we went to the Hong Kong Cemetery. In my group was Julian, Maya, Ashely and Alison. We went to the cemetery because to start off our new unit: Where We Are In Place and Time. The point of this field trip was to tell what we could find about HK’s history based on the artifacts there. So, on tuesday, we gotĀ organizedĀ into are groups which I mentioned before. We got to our groups by a specific letter, mine was ‘m’. So, on wednesday we got onto our bus. I sat with Kaelan. It was a very short bus ride because it was just outside the aberdeen tunnel. So when we arrived we got into our groups, and then each member of a group got an Kodak Camera. So then, the teachers told a few rules like, for example, so stepping on the bodies, or pointing at an grave. we headed off and found that most of the bodies were from WWI and WWII, airplane crashes and some shipwrecks.
On Monday, we started our PSAs which stands for “Public Service Announcement”. Our “PSAs” had to about one of the articles on the UN Convention of Children’s Rights. Mine is Article 11 “You have the right to be protected from kidnapping”. A PSA, is basically a short 20 sec- 1 min video about telling you to do something good of course, such as non-smoking campaigns. Mine’s almost finished accept for the credits. I’m quite shy because I have to present it to the class.
On Friday, we had our first swimming class I thought the teachers were very mean because, they shouted at us when we were changing. So, we did our swimming test to see what level we were. I think I got into the best group because I got into group 3. But other than the mean teachers, this is a good swimming class because we have water polo, which is basically like basketball in water.
