This is a digital portfolio of my learning experiences and achievements. I’m Eve Boulanger and I am a student at the Canadian International School at Hong Kong. I enjoy playing lots of sports such as soccer and touch rugby and I also enjoy teaching younger children in the club The Reading Tree. I am very passionate about global education, every child should have a quality education.

[PE] Health and Wellness

Fitness:

  1. Walk 10000+ steps per day
  2. Add 20min + of high intensity training (HR over 140-150bpm) 4 times per week.

Nutrition:

  1. Bring a lunch to school at least twice/ week consisting of good quality protein, green veg (think leftovers from dinner)
  2. Include at least 2 servings of green vegetables per day into your diet.

Sleep:

  1. Read a hard copy of a book/magazine 30-60min before bed.
  2. Get 8-10 hrs of quality sleep at least 5 times per week.

D4.0 Reflection of Final Film

This film has successfully raised the target audience’s knowledge and understanding of how the internet influenced the interviewees.

Throughout the film, the interviewees talk about the internet and how it affects their daily lives and how it affected their daily lives in the past. The talked about how their opinions on the internet have changed over time and all said that they have become avid users of the internet. In the film, Mary-Lou states that the internet helps her in her daily life and assists her in her occupation as an artist. She talks about her life before the internet in high school and her first experience with it. The different between these two experiences shows how the internet has influenced her. Both of the other interviewees also said the same sort of thing except they had a different occupation and a different first experience with the internet.

In the survey results, it could easily be seen that the target audience learned lots about the internet from the positive responses for questions about context. Even without hearing the interviewees talk context shows how the internet made a difference in everyone lives. However, in this film, the main focus was the interviewees and the target audience definitely understood how the internet influenced them. Evidence of this is seen in the responses to the “What aspects of the film did you like?” question on the survey. One of the respondents said that they liked the way in which we integrated the daily lives of the interviewee into the film showing how the are influenced by the internet on a daily basis. However, one response in the “What aspects of the film could be improved?” question was to put more of the interviewee’s experiences. Overall I think that the target audience understood the way in which the internet influenced the lives of the interviewees although there could have been more footage taken to answer this question by showing an increased amount of the interviewee’s personal experiences.

S.M.A.R.T Performance Goal for The Interconnected Project

Criterion A: I need to be specific when researching about my personal role in the group by researching other directors and reading the publications in the ‘Essential Reading’ folder about directors this should be completed by the end of Criterion A (February, 10).

Criterion B: In this project I will try to be more specific when evaluating my product against the design specifications by filling out another column in the design specifications table and this should be done before February 14.

Criterion C: In this project I will try to look more deeply into engaging an audience and making the product more aesthetic by directing an engaging story line and using special features such as effects and images. This should be complete by the end of Criterion C (March 12).

Criterion D: One thing to improve on is to make sure links from reflections and evaluations are accessible to view by making the access unlisted or public and this should be done throughout Criterion D.

Reflection of Healthy Habits

Throughout the first semester, I developed a couple of healthy habits based on my goals. I developed the habit of getting 10,000 steps everyday, I read for 40 minutes every night, I added greens to every meal and I brought a school lunch to lunch with lots of fruits and vegetables. Before healthy habits I got 10,000 steps when I had sports throughout the week and I would not get enough steps on other days during the week. This blog helped me consistently move around everyday of the week. I developed a habit of walking home. I would take a different bus home and have it drop me of on the corner of my street so I could walk home and add move around more. I also started to do more cardio on days that I did not have training, to get fit for SEASAC and developed the habit of doing some form of exercise everyday. I also got into the habit of reading before bed because I found that it allowed me to fall asleep faster and achieve my goal to get 8 hours of sleep every night. Since I have got into this habit I have read numerous book that I never had time to read during the day. I also ate lot greens with every meal however this habit was developed before this healthy habit blog. I was successful and consistent with this blog and often posted more than once a week commenting upon the process of my goals. This healthy habits blog allowed me to maintain a balanced lifestyle because I could track my healthy living and progress towards goals and still stay on top of academics. If I were to do something different I would have made more posts about sleep. The majority of my posts were about fitness and food. One of my sleep goals was not successfully achieved because of this. I did not get 8 hours of sleep every night. However, now when looking over my goals I realise that I need to focus on this and I will try to achieve this goal by setting timers so I start to get ready for bed earlier. Overall, this healthy habits blog was very successful with consistent posts and allowed me to develop habits to maintain a balanced lifestyle.
