This unit of inquiry ( U.O.I ) in Grade 5 is about children right’s. We have been studying this unit for about 4 to 5 weeks. Our summative assessment is to make a P.S.A about one of the children rights. If you don’t know what a P.S.A is, A P.S.A is kind of like a commercial instead of trying to sell something, it trying to tell you something. P.S.A stand for Public Service Announcement. They are normally about, stop taking drugs, quit smoking, stop child labour etc. My P.S.A is article 31 in the children rights law. In case you have not notice, Article 31 is children have the right to play and rest. Like I said before, our unit of inquiry is about children rights. We study children rights and we also study geography so that we can study what other children lives are like. most of all we study child labour. Child labour is forcing children what they are not to do. For example, forcing children to work, not letting children play or rest etc. I have learned that in geography there are around 50 countries in the world. Also I have learned all the children rights, and I have learned a lot of cool things on iMovie and Stykz. Stykz is an animation app that can create cartoons. In iMovie, you can make movies and make trailers for movies. The part that I love to study in this unit is geography. This responsibility because we all have the right to have human/child rights and I would spread the news. Also this shows me great responsibility because it can tell people to take away peoples rights. Also, this P.S,A can persuade people to take action because some people are not aware of this problem. My P.S.A took about 3 weeks but mostly in this unit we do our P.S.A. For me, I think this is one of the most interesting because I like making my P.S.A on a computer and I like studying about children all over the world. On the bottom of the post is a link to my P.S.A. If you watch it can you please like it? If you do I will appreciate it!

Dynamo 19,
This post shows only some of your understanding and growth throughout this unit of inquiry, while leaving some ideas unclear or unfinished. When reading your answers to the questions posed, I am not sure that you have reflected on your thoughts and considered how to best present your ideas. Your writing has a lot of spelling and grammar mistakes as well as some big formatting problems. It needs to be proof read and re-edited.
It is obvious that you understand the purpose of a public service announcement and I think both your style and design elements really demonstrate this understanding. I also think your message is really well presented. You’ve shown solid creating and editing skills using technology!
Overall, your final PSA project meets the expectations of this task. Your blog post reflection, however, approaches the expectations because it is not clear from your writing that you understand the central idea or the concepts that drive this unit of inquiry. It is also not evident that you have invested the required time and effort to make this blog post meet the expectations. Where are your 5 separate parts? Please consider adding more content and or description to your ideas, including examples, in order to make this work meet the expectations. With a little more attention, this can be an amazing post, just like your PSA.
I like the music that you’ve put in. It’s really sad so it makes the PSA more serious and effective.
I like the images you used because they were, relevant and interesting, the only thing you need to work on is the quality of the images.
Nice music and I liked the cartoon but is donating to UNICEF the only way to stop this? Why not taking action by doing something yourself?
I thought the music was a very good choice in my opinion because it connected with your message.
Hi Dynamo 19,
In your PSA, I like how you have explained what action you should take to make this world a better place.
Great Job!
Your picture is effective and the text is persuasive and effective and the music in your PSA was very sad and it can show the sadness of the PSA.
