Hi guys,
So today I found this really interesting tool called bubl us, Bubl us is like a tool to create mind maps, it can be used while you are doing your prior knowledge, or when you want to organize your information. Here is a brainstorm of why Bubl Us is useful.

Hi guys!
So today we have this assignment to create a mythical creature or a object that could be real in the future. My mythical creature is called LifeBot. This robot can communicate with you, also this robot can clean your house, do cooking, store valuable things in ( your savings, precious diamonds and etc ). This robot can be assign to almost anything you want in daily life! This robot can affect mankind by saving cost, this robot cost less then a helper. Although this robot needs a checkup every month so that means you can save money but then there is more risks.
Hi guys!
During the past six weeks, we have been working on the PYP Exhibition. The PYP exhibition is like a final summative assessment for primary years and since next year I’ll be moving to Grade 7 which is a whole new different system called the MYP which stands for middle years program. So anyway at first I thought that the exhibition would be just choosing a area of focus and just research and then share your information. But actually there was more to it like coming up with your central idea, lines of inquiry and other things like that. Just to let you know, a line of inquiry or a central idea is a guide line to your investigation. So anyway in the exhibition we have to follow the inquiry cycle which is tuning in which means like a introduction. Then comes the finding out stage which basically means research. Then after that is the sorting out stage which is sorting your information. For example like throwing away the information that you don’t need and keeping the good stuff. Then after is the going further stage which means like you research more when you don’t have enough info because you sorted out your information. Then you would think, hey I don’t have enough information about this area so I need to go further. The sorting out stage and the going further stage can repeat in the process. Finally there is the drawing conclusion stage which means like coming up with a answer. Then afterwards is taking action which does not mean action as in the movie action! It means like taking a step further and doing something about it not just like when you finish it, it’s over. I think that this cycle really helpt me with the process of the exhibition and also I think this is like a really good process for this type of investigation in the exhibition.( By the way, I’m doing colonization ) So for the first few weeks, I started researching with my group. In the exhibition, each team member has his or her own research to do. For me in colonization, each of my team member has a different place to do. I chose South Africa because I wanted to learn more about Africa, all the other continents, I know a bit of information, but for South Africa, I know nothing. My other team mates did Hong Kong, North America and Australia. Each team member has one area to research. After that we started sorting out our information, I actually thew away a lot of information. Ending up, I had to go further for a long time. Then we started planning our booth, we needed to complete everything in 5 days which was really a challenge because we wasted so much time just printing, after that most of the papers were in the recycling bin because we didn’t plan properly. But ending up we finished in time! But if I had done the exhibition again, I wish I’ve planned everything first and used my time more wisely because then I wouldn’t be very stressed at the last minute. When it was the night of the exhibition, I thought it really went well because I knew my information and I kept talking and talking, I just enjoyed myself. Overall, I think the exhibition was a really fun and interesting project and it was really exciting!

Hi guys,
This week I started my PYP exhibition! The PYP exhibition is kind of like a finale exam for the PYP. Basically you have to choose a area to research from a list that our teachers gave us and we have to select the top three you want to research. I chose colonization because I haven’t studied this before and I think it will quite interesting to try something new. Anyway what I’m worrying about is that we only have 12 days to complete it. That means done all your research, set up your both and be ready to present. So far I’ve done some research, my group has chosen our lines of inquiry, that means guide lines for our research. So anyway so far so good!

Hi guys!
Sorry I haven’t posted new blog post because last week was our winter break. I didn’t go anywhere so I just stayed in Hong Kong which was quite boring. This week we watched a percussionist and his name was Steve Stiler. He is from Australia and ever since he was young, he loved music. I really like to watch him because he is really good. I think he played the drums the best because his combination of the drums work really well and his hand and legs were moving really fast. Plus there was this guitar playing from the stereo and it was really nice. This week we started our new unit called Where We Are In Place And Time. For short WWAIPT. For this unit, it isn’t an ordinary unit because the students have to come up with a central idea. But we haven’t done that so all we have is a theme. The concepts and attributes, we have to come up ourselves. So at first it won’t really make sense but then when we have our central idea and concepts and everything, it will make more sense. Also that reminds me about the exhibition of the PYP. I’m still thinking what topic I should do and also how are we going to organize the groups so that is kind of stressing me out. Anyway, this week we have to do this task where we have to cut out an article of a newspaper which has to relate to the theme. Which is An Inquiry Into Orientation In Place And Time, Personal History, Homes And Journeys, The Discoveries Of Exploration And The Migration Of Human Mankind. Then we have to write a summary of the article that you have chosen and then you have to explain how does the article that you have chosen relate to the theme.

Hi guys, I haven’t updated my blog for a while and I’m sorry about that. Last week the whole Gr. 6 went to camp to Zhao Qing. Zhao Qing is a city in China, it’s famous for the nine dragon rocks. In chinese it’s pronounce jiu long she. ( 九龍石 )So anyway we stayed there from last Wednesday to Friday. In order to get to our hotel, we had to travel a small boat to our hotel. Our hotel is near a lake and it’s not one of those 5 star hotels. We did a lot of fun activities like cableway hike, scavenger hunt, ink stone carving etc. My favorite activity was the scavenger hunt. We had to answer a bunch of questions of the scenery of the park which where we did it. Also they handed us a bunch of pictures of different items in the park and they said we had to take a replica of the picture. Also my group won and we got a prize which I’m not going to tell you. Just joking! It was a water bag. It’s a waterproof bag that can keep your things dry when you’re in the water. Anyway check next weeks update.
Bye!

Hi guys,
Sorry I haven’t updated my blog. Anyway this week we started working on our new unit of inquiry and summative assessment. Our new unit is how we express ourselves which is basically art. Also today is remembrance day. Remembrance day is to remember the people and soldiers that lost there lives in wars. In my school, we do this every year. It’s kind of like a way to appreciate there bravery and remember the ones who had suffer or lost there loved ones. Anyway this week on Thursday, we did some painting. We had to paint the Chinese Zodiac animals or characters on tiles, and we need to use only a certain amount of color. So everyones tiles join up and make it into a mosiac. A mosiac is an art form from small pictures or tiles and form one big picture. Also one Thursday, we have this period called Tekky Tym. ( Tekki Time ) It’s a period where someone shows us something new from the computer and everyone tries it out. It’s actually quite interesting and fun. Yesterday, I downloaded a new app called Anxiety. It’s an app that help you remind things. Like for example if a project is due on Tuesday, then you mark it down and then when it’s Tuesday, it will show you that your project is due today. So that’s about it with the interesting and important stuff this week. Check next weeks blog update!

Hi guys,
Today my teacher, Ms Sandul asked us to do a reflection about our lit circle book called Chinese Cinderella. In our class we have two books we can choose, one that’s called Ties That Bind, Ties That Break, and the other one is called Chinese Cinderella. Anyway it’s about a girl her name is Adeline, she lived in China, Tianjin. Her mother died when she was two weeks old and her father married a half european half chinese 17 year old lady. Her parents didn’t really like her because the parents didn’t allow her so one day her friends threw a surprise party and so her mother got so angry that she wanted to abandoned her. But then her aunt wanted to send her to college in Europe and that’s about it. There were some connections with me and that story like when her Grandparents passed away, she was really feeling upset and depressed. I know how she feels because a few days ago my father passed away so I knew how she felt. Another connection was when her family moved to Shang Hai and when she went to her new school, she had to walk 10 minutes to her house from school on weekdays. I knew how tired she was because sometimes I take to school bus and my school bus just drop me off at the front gate of my area where I live so it’s a ten minute walk from my house to the front gate. Also another one is one time her servants didn’t speak to her for the whole day because she did something bad, I had the same thing with her because I did something that my parents got really mad at me so they didn’t speak to me for the whole week. Another one is her parents are really strict about her and houe rules. I know how it felt because my parents use to be very strict to me so that I can behave. Another one is that her elder sisters and brothers always take her favorite food away. One time I had the same thing like her, the only difference ways that my dog ate it because he was very hungary.

Hi guys,
Today we had Ms. Doolette-Cox came into our classroom to talk about values and proof. We first discussed about values and I felt really into the conversation because I had some many things coming into my mind that I want to share to my table group. Then Ms D.C stopped us and told us to pick on value and give the table proof of why this is a value. At first the whole class thought we should discuss why is this a value you picked. Then after a few minutes she stopped us and told us that is not right. Then she told us what proof means and gave us an example. This week we did not do much, last night was curriculum night. It’s where all the students parents come to school at night and the teachers present things to the parents like our blogs, our work and especially our desks. This week we studied more on our U.O.I. Especially our central idea which is differences and values can cause conflict that we choose to deal with in different ways. Anyways I think the U.O.I is quite interesting because to me values is actually a interesting topic to talk and learn about. Over the past few weeks we heard quest speakers, we watched movies, we did a little bit of art. So anyway thats about it this week, check out next week update!
