In Sharing The Planet we learn a couple of things, like child rights. Since I am a child too,I will have to learn about the rights that I have. The key concept to me is the freedom and the right to live, as children we are not supposed to work and we can be educated too. So for we have learned about UNICEF and the areas they are focusing on. We also had a person who came to CDNIS to talk about child labor and another to talk about the conditions on how some children lived. I think the most important fact we learned about in this unit is children should not be treated unfairly and be punished or pushed because of what their parents had done. The most exited fact I learned is children even have rights! When I was small I never knew children can be forced to work. If I had joined an organization I would go to UNICEF because this one is more is more known and created the UNCRC document that includes children’s rights. If you donate to an orphan for their food or education you are helping them and supporting child rights. Sometimes if you are a carpet factory owner and you involve child labor by forcing children to work, that is against children rights. I’m thinking about making a PSA on stopping child labor. To me, this unit makes me feel sad about the children that die from starvation, child labor, thirst and more.
