1. What does sportsmanship mean to you/look like to you? Give some examples?

I think that sportsmanship mean playing fair and following the rules of the sport.

2. Why is it important to follow the rules of a game?

It is important to follow the rules of the game because if you don’t it will not be fun.

3. Why are good team strategies important to success in team games? Give examples of strategies for team handball? How would you create and/or deny space in team handball?

What is a strategy you/your team used in “Capture the Flag” to be more successful?

Team strategies are important because it gives you a higher chance to win the game. You can create space by faking to one side then run to the other side to get the ball. You can deny space by following someone from the opposing team and not let him get the ball.

4. Describe why having strong skills helps your team be more successful? Give some examples of skills with a specific team sport in mind.

Having strong skills are important because it will help your team be better. In basketball, the skill most people have is being able to jump high, it could help you team get the rebound.

5.Why does a team that is very physically fit have an advantage over a team that is not fit?

A team that is fit has an advantage of different skills such as speed. Because if you are fast in hand ball you could run and intercept the ball.

The grade 6 camp is awesome!!! We went for 4 days and we did a lot of different activities. We did the great race, cableway hike, visited the paper factory and made our own paper, chinese painting and made our own ink stones. Our camp took place in Zhao Qing in China, it was freezing there, luckily we all brought something to keep us warm. In the night we did a DF Challenge(Dragonfly Challenge) and Camp fire. In the DF Challenge the Dragonfly staff gave us a subject and we need to act it out. We had a lot of fun in this activity. For the Camp Fire, some people had a play or a dance or song to present in the Camp Fire for us. My favorite thing we did was the cableway hike, it was my first time to do it. It was quite cool to walk on the cable and the Dragonfly staff told us a lot of things about the nature at the hike. He told us about what humans did to destroy he mountain. The thing that I hated was the bus ride, it took us about 5 and a half hour to get to the camp site because there was traffic. I really enjoyed the camp and I am looking forward for the next year’s camp!

At school we had to make a presentation about what we hed learnt about integers. We had to present it to the grade 5. We had the choice to choose to present it by a poster, a keynote ( you have to recording your voice) or a study guide. I chose to do a poster because I thought that it was the best way to present your understanding of integers and the fastest. On my poster I included a definition about integers, how you add and subtract integers and a number line to show that you could use a number line to help you if you are stuck on a question.

On the first week in grade six was amazing!!! Our new teacher is called Ms Kinsinger and I am in 6E. In 6E my best friends are Charles and Theo.

On every monday we have musical monday, on musical mondays the teacher will show us a music video on you tube. Also on monday afternoons we have a ten minutes of free time with 6B. On friday at P.E we had a 12 minute run, what we do is to keep running in circles for 12 minutes with out stoping, my score was 34.

The thing that I hate the most was the math pre test and the reading pre test. This year our class is “The 6E Elite Empire”, someone suggested that “The Elite E-vengers” but more people wanted the Elite Empire. My favorite event that we did is FF(Funny Friday). All you do in Funny Fridays is that we tell jokes in the class.

We also set our goals for Gr 6, I haven’t made my goals yet but we are going to continue it in the next week. In music class we had to choose a instrument to play, we can chose Clarinet, Flute, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone and euphonium. The instrument I choice was Clarinet but if I don’t get it I’m going to get my 2′nd choice which is Trumpet.

This is the Cat and Mouse game board I created, I roll a 1,3,5 on the dice you move on the L lane and if you roll a 2,4,6 you move in the R lane. On the actual Cat and Mouse game board its a 50/50 chance of the cat and mouse winning. But on this game board the mouse has a small advantage of winning. But when my friend Extreme 25 played it 10 times, the cat won 5 times and the mouse won 5 times.

Please try playing my game board and comment on which animal has a bigger advantage of winning.

This is our camp in Grade 5, celebrating the end of Grade 5 we had lots of fun. This camp was like a test. It took a lot of time for the teachers and the dragonfly staffs to organize all the question in the test.

During the test there were a lot of activities some hard and some easy. There were a lot of questions, bread-making, biking, rock climbing, Sampan, caving, raft building, tie-dying, great race and some team building games.

The question in the test that is challenging is to find a way to build a raft so that when it goes into the water it won’t break. Also our whole group can sit on it without anyone falling in to the water.

The question that was easy was to me was biking because I started biking when I was really young and I often go biking with my brother.

At the end its like when we get our results for our test. We think back and we think of something we should have done to make the activities easier.

For my personal inquiry I did a keynote and I presented it in front of the class. I talked about what different organizations are doing to help child labour. During my research I went on diigo to look for some websites to help with my research, but at first I was having some trouble for finding the right sites because most of them were not about what organizations are doing. But at last Mr Brown put extra websites and I used the UNICEF website and it really helped me. I took a few notes from the websites and used it in my keynote, then I used the SOS Children’s Village website and I took some notes too an used it in my keynote. When I started my keynote I talked about Organizations providing day care centers, health care centers and education. During my presentation, I thinkI need to speak louder a nd clearer and also give more eye contact to the audience not just looking at my cue cards through the whole presentation.
