School is almost coming so I want to do a short recap of what did I do in the Philippines,Cebu. We left on the 9th of February and came back on the 16th. Some days we went down to the beach and snorkel, kayak, jet ski, stand up paddle, ETC. One day it rained so we decided to go to the biggest mall in Cebu, the SM mall and check out some cheep items in the store. The next day when I was snorkeling both of my ancles got stung by jellyfish. It wasn’t that painful because I know what does a jelly fish sting looks like and feels, because I got stung a lot of times before. So the life guards put vinegar one me so it would get well better. One day we went on a boat trip to other island and snorkel. Once were done the trip I was burning up a fever so my grandma had to take care of me and the others get to go out to eat dinner. Overall I spent a great time in the Philippines, with my family and friends. ” Come to the Philippines ! it’s more fun in the Philippines.

Over the past 4 weeks me and my book club buddys were reading a book called “Boy Over Board “. The book is by Moriss Gleitzmen. The story is about a Afghan boy called Jamal. He and his sister (Bibi) likes to play soccer. There is a problem, the problem is it is ilegal to play soccer in Afghanistan. Their mom also has an ilegal school. One day the government found out that Jamals family is hosting an ilegal school. So the whole family had to leave Afghanistan and planed to go to Australia. They took a boat to Australia, and on there way to Australia they fought back pirates and smugglers.  That is the brief summary of the story.

This book is suitable for young readers because the content is not that long and it is really enjoyable to read. I think the book is based on personal stories for example when Afghan people go and migrate somewhere like Australia. There is a lot of love and leaders in this book.  It is really sad in some parts because Jamal and there parents got separated when they got on the boat. I will rate this book  9/10 because every thing was perfect but the content is small and if there was more I would love it.

Today  is the first day of the Young Americans Hong Kong tour at CDNIS. The Young Americans were a group of collage students were they teach us how to dance, act and sing.When we got to our schools auditorium at 8:20 the Young Americans was greeting us and we were like OMG but I was like oh yeah lets get this party started. The first thing they showed us a dance move we had to do in the performance. The numbers of the dance was very hard and we had to do it really slowly. I forgot to tell about something it is about the time of our thing. The Young Americans gets to stay with us for the whole school day that means no math no chinese and literacy ETC. We also did the disco number and it is awesome. We did the number with the Young Americans and disco was all about moving hips. After lunch we had a begging to end what had we learned today.

This week I had to do a integer assessment. Our task is to do a poster, digital tutorial or a study guide, I piked poster. We were making these for the grade fives for basic information. I need to know about my integers so I can explain to the grade fives and my teacher. In my poster I feel that I done well in what is an integer because it makes sense and I feel confident that I can show it to the grade fives. If I’d did it againI would put more detail in it like how you add integer and how does the number works.

 Hi over the couple of weeks my class had to read a book called Ties That Bind Ties That Break. This book is amazing and I think it you will like this book if you read it. 

Tao Ailin is a Chinese girl and 12 years old. She is sometimes naughty, sometimes she is a head strong and smart girl.she can pro nonce English really well. Ailin does not have bound feet. The year was 1911, or something like that, so woman must had bound feet or else they could not marry a rich and wealthy man. Ailin already had one, his name was Liu Hanwei. Ailin dosen’t want bound feet and the Tao family tried an attempted but they failed. Ailin’s dad saw the look in Ailins face and he was shocked so he said to stop. So the Tao family had to break of the engagement to the Liu Family. Ailins futre might be a happy one after all.

Now I in grade 6 yeah so far G6 is pretty good.  This Week was pretty not stressful no english homework and next week I heard that there is going to be more homework, this week we had done lots of thing about grade 6 when is lunch when is PE. In our classroom there is five bears (toy ones) and my teacher said it is part of the 6E Elite Empire family  and they are all rescues and one was about to be thrown away.

In performing arts we had to choose our own instrument. I picked the trumpet or the guitar. I hope you like my post and will be typing more of grade 6 life bye.

This month we started a unit of inquiry it is called the human body.  How does it changes like what happens when you hit puberty and stuff like that.

A week earlier me and my class mate had to do this easy homework to find interesting things about your human body. My one was when you are afraid your ears will produce more wax. What I loved about this is that it is incredible that when you get more scared you will produce more ear wax.

In class I need to choose a topic about about the human body and what it changes. I would do puberty because I don’t know much about this thing that happens in your human body. My three big question are what is puberty, how does it effect your body and why we have puberty.

So far in my U.O.I, it has been really good and we also been to camp. We’ve been to camp because it is related to our unit, it is related because it has to so with our health. We also had to wach a movie called inside the living body this movie is about inside your human body what is inside your body this movie is from national geographic.

A month ago we started our PSA. A PSA is public service announcement it is a announcement were you put an announcement for the public on youtube or somewhere the public can see it.

I made this PSA because our unit of inquiry is about children rights.

It was really hard because I needed to plan and show my presentation,  post it on YouTube and write a description on it  . When I  did my PSA for the first time my teacher showed me some examples of PSA . We needed to do our own by choosing our own article from this peace of paper from UNICEF . If you want check  the articles out, go to the UNICEF website for more details. My PSA is about children having fun and  relaxing.

Our unit is about child labor and children rights. I learned a lot of things this unit like what is child labor? where does it come from? My PSA demonstrate responsibility by organizing what do I do first .

I feel this right is very important because children need time to play  as well as study, and children study better when they can have free time as well.. today I have completed my PSA and I was like thank god it’s over. So now I am writing the check list of what have I done . I also posted some of other peoples videos . I think I did great because I liked my songs and my slides and everything. For my slide I used iMovie. I think iMovie is really good for movies because in my opinion its really convenient  to use on MacBooks and please comment on my blog please please.

Today  me and my mom are at school doing Student Led Learning Review (S.L.L.R). It  is when you show almost all of your work at the end of the year. I presented 9 stations wich are math, literacy , unit of inquiry, technology, Art, personal and social, Performing Arts, Physical Education and chinese. Todays S.L.L.R was great because everything was going great my mom was clear about what I was doing at school and which area I need to improve on.After the S.L.L.R my mum felt really happy and I was also happy.

On this Easter break i went to Thailand,Phuket and the funny thing that happend was my friend came with me to a water park. Me and my friend went on the medium water slide,there are extreme ons that I want to go on but my friend dosen’t want to go on the extreme water slides so we went on the medium ones. Then we were on the floor where the medium slides were then my friend said I don’t want to go. I did not know he was a big sise so I forced him to do it then he did do it then he was screaming for mommy mommy. After the ride my friend said let’s do that again !!!

Hi this month the grade 5 had started a new unit. The topic of the unit is children’s rights.In this unit i’d learn a lot of geography because we need to know where doas kids live and stuff like that. The most important thing that I discovered was kids were still working in carpet factories and brik factores [etc]
but it also shocked me when I place in HK and it is like an kids orphan school because the parent have like some mental problem thing so the government found the kids and bring them there to sleep and to have an education,There were also baby’s. The most surprising thing happend was reading this book called “Iqbal” it is about a boy in Pakistan who was in a carpet factory and his master (I don’t know how do you spell his name)but this master was really strick. Iqbal died when he was about thirteen. You should read that book it is based on a true story . If I would join an organization I would free child slavery and hunger. People can support rights by taking actions for example can free child slavery and others. What are some ways that people can deny children’s rights?:by forcing them to do things they dont want or just by killing them. The unit is making me feel grate because we get to learn about children rights.

Hi toady at class my teacher told us to do this short book review. I am going to do a diary of a wimpy kid book review. It is about this boy called Greg Heffley and his best friend Rowley Jefferson then something gone wrong so they weren’t BFF’S any more. This book is good for 6 year old and up. I is really funny and outrages.there are also other  series of diary of a wimpy kid books.

Today we went to the Hong Kong ecopark. Hong Kong ecopark is a place that every thing is green. We went there because we are studying it for our unit of inquiry. Our tour guide said maybe at 2015 hong kong will be filled with trash.There is  three land fills in Hong Kong AND ONE OF THEM IS ALMOST FULL. So we need to REDUSE,RECYCLE AND REUSE

Yesterday me and my brother was watching TV then suddenly the whole reasorts lights were off so I panicked. I tried to get out of the room but my head hit the cabinet then the lights were on again. After dinner me and my brother went to the place that you can play video games. The sad thing is that we almost completing the level then the lights went off again for like 50 seconds.

This winter holiday the whole  grade 5 can bring their mac books home. It is the first time in grade 5 history  that grade 5 can bring this winter break. They usually bring them home at Chinese new year. So that is really awesome. Have a Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

On December 13, 2011, we went ice- skating at the Elements Mall. The rink was huge. When I arrived at the rink with my mom,  it was as quiet as a mouse. When 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D and 5E arrived, it was as loud as a typhoon. The ice was white and some parts were red and blue. When I was ice- skating I fell and hurt my knee. We had lots of fun at Elements and I wish you could go there and skate too.

I don’t recommend small children to watch this film because it is violent. The films genre is action comedy and romance all mix together, I give this movie a 10/10 because there is riddles and clues and it is a exciting movie.

On September 27 2011 me and grade 5 D,E,A went to art jamming. Art jamming is A place that you paint and our task is to paint  whatever we want with that color. It felt really nerves for the first hour but for the second hour I felt GREAT!

The worst part in art jam is bare foot because you get all paint on your feet. Hope you come to Hong Kong to visit Art Jamming  bye for now.
